Would a non-professional be able to do this on their own head, or with help from a friend?

I am a non- professional and I did it to myself.. You can do it but it is a long process and time consuming. It took me 4 hours or more but my hair is very thick and long.. So I recommend let someone help you for the first time and follow the instructions exactly. And you will like it..

is this product recomended for curly or kinky hair? if I apply this in my curls will they desapear for ever?

This great product reduces kink, curl and frizziness in curly to coarse hair! No, your hair does not permanently change forever. The treatment lasts for up to 4 months (at least with my hair). My hair is thin but very curly and frizzy. The level of "straight" depends on the time left on the hair. (Go to youtube and look up GKHair The Best application) please follow all instructions from the company and the video or call the 1800 number for further assistance or a special case, if unsure about anything. I have been using GKHair products for alkost 10 years. I am super pleased with the result and would recommend their line and THIS PRODUCT 100% ! Hope that helps.

Is this for all type of hair? I have naturally thin hair, that always looks like it needs to be combed. I never lays flat or looks sleek.

Well I can’t say for sure. I have totally opposite, my hair is thick , coarse and frizzy. This product is for frizzy unruly hair. There is a table of how long you should keep in your hair. I believe if you search for that table on the web it will explain for your hair type and results you are looking for.
