Moonshine Rod Co. Fly Fishing Rod with Carrying Case and Extra Rod Tip Section, Slow-Medium-Fast Action

The rod came ontime and is a really good rod for the price point, I love that it comes in a hard travel case. Also comes with the micro-wave eyelets, I put 4lb izer line on a shimano Nasci 2500hg reel and let me tell you this rod will send a 3/8 oz lure 50+ yards easy. So far I am impressed with this rod, I have a couple $1200 set ups and this rod isn't far behind those ones. Rod is a little heavy for a medium light fast action rod but I dont mind since it looks great and functions great.

Pole feels great in the hand very light. Though it’s categorized at a medium, be very cautious of it breaking when on a larger fish or snag. I used the pole one time, snagged a tree limb which was reeling in towards me so wasn’t anchored but enough to snap the pole just above the cork handle and below the first eye. I submitted a claim and paid 35$ and received a new butt section of the pole. I used it several times caught some small rainbows on it and recently went to reposition the pole in the bed of my truck, lifting the pole less than 12” off the bed and it snapped in my hand like a twig. Like I said it’s a beautiful pole, felt great casting and catching fish with but it’s simply not a durable rod what so ever. I’ve never broken a rod like this before in my life and I’m 37 years old been fishing since I can remember walking…hate leaving reviews like this bc the company seems awesome but it’s just not a high quality pole…

So the rod is absolutely beautiful. I Was excited to use it for the first time this past weekend steelhead fishing at Walnut creek on lake Erie. The casting was amazing and I was so happy I had got this rod to go with my reel. Unfortunately the first steelhead I caught broke the tip and the first section of the rod off. I was shocked. I could not believe what I was looking at. I could actually have cried. I will attach pictures later today. For the amount of money you are spending on this rod I would expect better quality. Also I would expect a stronger quality inspection check before products go out. So I do not recommend this rod nor will I be buying it again. I hope this helps you with your purchasing process. Thanks. Update, Amazon, even though I purchased this rod June 3 2021 and its now November 8th 2021 they are replacing the rod for me. Hopefully I just got a defective product and the next one is good to go. Also, I would post pictures of the rod and of the fish but my app keeps giving me errors.

Bought the 6’6” medium light Rambler series and paired mine with a Shimano Stradic ci4 2500 size reel. What a beautiful and high quality rod/reel combo. Love the travel rod tube moonshine ships their rods in. Reached out directly to them with a question via their website and received a reply on my inquiry very quickly. Makes me feel that if I ever need them for the lifetime rod warranty I will be well taken care of. Felt so good about the rod and customer service that I decided to also grab the 7’ medium heavy version.

I purchased a 6'6" Rambler rod, and it has been fine over a several hours of panfishing from lake shore. At this price point, it would be nice to have rod section alignment dots, but that's not a big deal.The problem lies in that my rod was received with only one tip section rather than two as standard for all Moonshine rods. I immediately, upon receipt of my order, contacted Moonshine to request the missing part. It's now been 7 weeks, and I continue to receive weak excuses but no part. This rod remains available for sale, so there is evidently inventory that could be used to rectify their initial error. I have made this request to no avail.I see other reviewers [on the Moonshine site] have suffered similar issues over the past few years, and my own review should serve to amplify their experience and comments.This is not my first purchase from Moonshine, however it is in grave danger of being the last one.Think very carefully before purchasing this rod or any other product from Moonshine, as it's unclear they will stand behind their product or be willing and able to fill warranty orders.I continue to hold hope that Moonshine will make this right so I can update this review in a positive manner.

I just received this rod. Out of the box I was impressed with the craftsmanship. I have not had an opportunity to try it out yet. But I will be out with it in the next couple of weeks.
