I loved these when I first got them, it was nice to have a place to put the spoon over the pot itself so any drips landed back into the pan/pot. But then I tried it with medium high heat and the rubber or whatever they use to keep the metal from scratching the pan just up and melted onto the pan itself, both giving me a pan I needed to really scrub clean, but also ruining the pot clip unless I want to scratch a pan to use it.

I used this clip on the edge of a 6 inch high pot of boiling water that was twice as wide as the gas burner with no flames visible up the sides. It melted the two black rubber pieces on the bottom of the clip onto my pot, and changed the physical properties of the top (cracked/crumbling material is at high risk of flaking into your food when you try to unclip it). The heat-resistant utensil in the same area had no damage. At that point, using fingers is slightly slower than a dull knife to pry the low quality material off the metal clip. It technically still functions and then you have three choices:1. Use “as-is:” Remove all the synthetic crumbles and use as a bare metal clip (possibly risking scratching your pan). It’s expensive for a chip-clip if repurposing for other applications.2. Modify as needed: Remove the synthetic crumbs and use an additional heat-resistant product that you apply yourself as a nonslip protectant.3. Throw away if you already bought it and it’s not returnable.The spring opening and closing the clip seems okay, but it would be better not to buy this item in the first place. It is mislabeled as being specifically for use near heat.

Rubber dots cracked and fell off.

First time using, the black pads melted and fell into my dish. Do not waste your money.

Both of the clip holders lost their rubber tips from the heat of the pan I clipped them to with just a few uses. I had a similar clip before that lasted years.

During first use with making pasta- the rubber on the clip came right off from the heat. Not worth even a dollar! Very cheap.

The buttons melt. Don’t buy this.

what is the point?!?!?! they melted seconds after i clipped it on. great in theory but pure garbage, returned.
