Worth a purchase
I recently installed the Xpelair C4TSR Extractor Fan with Timer in my bathroom, and Iโve been really impressed with its performance so far. This fan is part of Xpelairโs Simply Silent range, and it definitely lives up to the nameโitโs incredibly quiet, even on the higher speed setting. The Ghost Air Movement technology they use really makes a difference; you barely notice itโs running, which is a huge upgrade from my old, noisy fan. Installation was straightforward, thanks to the Twist & Click fascia design. I managed to fit it into the ceiling without too much hassle. It comes with both square and round baffle covers, which is a nice touchโI went with the round one to match my bathroomโs look, but itโs great to have the option. The adjustable timer is another standout feature. I set it to run for about 15 minutes after a shower, and it clears out steam and humidity like a champ. You can tweak it anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes, so itโs super flexible depending on your needs. The fan has two speed settings (15 or 21 l/s), which you choose during installation. I opted for the higher one since my bathroom gets pretty steamy, and it handles the job well with an extraction rate of 54-76 mยณ/hr. Itโs powerful enough to keep condensation at bay, yet it stays quietโmaxing out at 29 dB, which is barely noticeable. Plus, itโs energy-efficient, using just 6.3-7 watts, so I donโt feel guilty letting it run a bit longer. A couple of minor gripes: the instructions could be clearer, especially for setting the timer and speed. I had to double-check online to make sure I got it right. Also, while itโs great for general bathroom use, it might not be the absolute best for super high-humidity spaces with no windowsโthough thatโs more about my setup than the fan itself. Overall, the Xpelair C4TSR is a stylish, quiet, and effective extractor fan thatโs perfect for most bathrooms. The 2-year guarantee gives me peace of mind, and it looks sleek in white. If youโre after a reliable, near-silent fan thatโs easy to install and does the job, Iโd definitely recommend giving this one a try!

Replacement for a poorly sucking unit.
It was easy to replace my original unit with this one. I had to extend the wiring as the connection was in a different place to the first unit. There is a horizontal line that you need to be aware of, fitting the unit with this in mind enables the back flaps to operate properly. I did originally try to fit it rotated so that the wiring fitted, but not only did the back flaps hang open, the outer cover (with name) was at an angle! Being a little OCD that would have annoyed me! I bought the timer version, it needs two power sources, One from the light source and the other from the fan isolation switch. It will stay on for about 30 minutes (Time is adjustable) once the light is turned off. The unit has a 2 speed jumper adjustment, I have mine set to high. It isn't silent but not extremely loud either! The unit comes with 2 covers, square or round, I used the round one, It feels a little fragile the first time I twisted it to remove the cover, but after a couple of fitments it hasn't broke, so must be fit for purpose. I am happy with this purchase, it is definitely better than the unit that came with the house (New build!).

Excellent but bathroom quite misty on default setting
Very quiet and nice looking. But extraction of vapour is poor on default low setting in the bathroom. I will change setting to high and hope it extracts vapour from shower better.

Works great and nice and quiet
Installed in the bathroom ceiling, set to high speed by adjusting the internal jumper plug. Nice and powerful and very quiet in operation. Really pleased with it, would definitely recommend. Just one thing to note, you canโt fix a 100mm flexible pipe directly to the back of it or it will interfere with the non return flaps and stop them opening, you need to get an adapter pipe/ connector to fix on the back and then attach the flexible pipe to the adapter.

Don't waste your money!
Bought this as thought it looked sleek and expected it to be quieter than our current bathroom extract fan. At first it was great, did the job and was quiet.....but after a month or so it developed a clicking noise. On further investigation the impellor was catching on the side wall of the fan housing. The impellor is quite flexible so I could manipulate the fins to avoid them catching.....job done. Not quite. A week or so later the clicking noise was back! I got on to Expelair customer services and they agreed to send me a replacement. Job done again I thought. I'm afraid not. The replacement has done exactly the same and I'm not prepared to continually remove the cover and impellor to resolve the issue. This fan is not fit for purpose and should be removed from the market.

Marvellous
Easy to install - refurbished bathroom myself as a DIYer and found it very simple. I did have to saw down the back as our walls are very thin and it would protrude outside our house otherwise! I'm sure most people won't have that problem though... Nice and quiet on medium speed. Definitely extracts a lot of steam. Comes included with a choice of square or circle cover - we went with the square one and it looks mint

Very quiet, great design
Editing my review because I realised after purchasing 4 of these, the shutters would not open on any of them! If you push with a screwdriver from inside, you can test this! The ducting was obstructing them from behind as there is no leeway plastic to ensure freedom of shutter movement. I was basically extracting against closed shutters. I have had to make improvised collars today with plastic from bottles that fits around the fan but also permits the ducting to sit on the fan as well. It has been a nightmare but testing with a scredriver again today I have successfully fixed this. If you are a returning customer, test your old ones ASAP! If a new customer, ensure you have a plan to mitigate potebtial ducting obstructing the fan shutters. These are good fans with an unfortunate flaw! Original review: Nice product, nice look to it, really glad it has a self closing flap on the back as well, to stop back draughts. Bought 2 to replace old fans I could see outside through them. Also updated outside cowels to covered/flap style and stops ridiculous heat loss experienced before. Product isn't flush to wall and has 3 screw holes so had to patch up previous fans square holes and wallpaper afterwards, worth the change over for extra insulation and warmth in winter.
