The Emile Henry baking dish has an attractive appearance -- thick glaze, heavy weight and a crafted look. It cleans easily & was made in France. The only criticism I have is that although the bottom is mostly glazed the unglazed parts were a little rough. Fortunately my husband was able to improve that using very fine emory cloth (a superfine sandpaper). The EH baking dish came very well packaged.Compared to the Le Creuset Heritage Stoneware 8" square dish the quality of the Emile Henry seems better. While the color of the Le Creuset is whiter, its shape was a bit out of square and the bottom rocked slightly. (It was made in China.) The Le Creuset was wrapped in only a thin sheet of bubble wrap with empty space in the shipping box so it could slide around.

Head's up - if you own other Emile Henry "Modele Depose" bakeware, this item doesn't quite match the rest. The "EH" embossment is new, so perhaps the set has been updated since I bought my other dishes. The inside isn't the same bright white that's in the other 3 dishes I own, it's more of a cream color. Not totally a dealbreaker, but it does look slightly different than the rest of my set which was a little disappointing.Otherwise, this dish will last a lifetime and is very high quality.

I love Emile Henry cookware! The colors are so beautiful and they are thicker, with added depth as compared to cheaper clear glass bakeware, which helps a lot to eliminate spills in my oven when things bubble over! I have the small rectangle lasagne pan and the 8x8 square. They clean well and won’t scratch! Love them!

Cannot attest to durability as I've only had for 5 days and used once. But so far, exceeded my expectations.I ordered two, one for myself and one for my mom. Mine was placed in an extremely large box with the plastic air pockets Amazon uses - except these do nothing when the item can tumble around freely inside the box. It's amazing it was not broken. Amazon, you can do better. The other one was in an orig packaged box placed inside an extremely large box, so that one packaged better.

I needed to ditch my old baking dishes. WOW, I've never had anything like this Emile Henry made-in-France quality! This is a heavy, thick, no nonsense ceramic baking dish. It can withstand 500 deg. heat in the oven. It's also safe in a broiler, microwave and freezer. The information says you can take it out of a freezer and go directly into a hot oven. (I'm personally too afraid to do that, but nice to know). Never use this on a stove top though! The glaze coating is silky smooth. No worries about sticking with my casseroles or even cornbread. I hand wash this, but the information says it's OK in the dishwasher. A 10 year guarantee comes with it too. I'm going to by the next two larger sizes now. So glad I got this!

This is a beautiful 8X8 dish. I bought a second one immediately upon receipt of the first. Great quality and style. This is so much better than Le Creuset. You will love this dish.

The quality is excellent. The finish is beautiful and very durable. The company states that metal utensils are fine to use and I can definitely verify this. We use a metal spatula with it all the time, and there is absolutely no scratching of the finish. It has a glossy finish that has been very easy to clean. It seems to heat evenly.Honestly there is not one negative thing I can say about it! This was the first piece of Emile Henry we have purchased. We were a bit hesitant to pay such a high price, when there are well-reviewed items costing a fraction of this. But it is well worth the cost, and we fully intend on buying more of their dishes. Next on my list is the pie dish. Can't wait to have this quality when making quiche!

A friend had a pampered chef partyI loved the look of their products, clean, ceramic... high quality. They had the price tag to go with it too. but the availability was terrible and the product reviews were bad.So instead I found these. They are beautiful. Clean lines - 10 year guarantee the price is great and so were the reviews!

These, as are all Emile Henry products, are beautiful and shine with quality. I will be using these in my Breville Smart Oven Air, as well as regular oven. I have to admit that these are more pleasant looking to me than the Ultime line. This HR Modern line was developed to appeal to North Americans. Huh. I never thought I would become predictable. But, these are clean and sharp looking. They even feel better to me than the Ultime ones did. Emile Henry did a great job with this line.

Great ceramic baking dish at a pretty good price. EH is a quality brand. You can’t go wrong with this purchase.
