I’m not sure if there was a design change to reduce shipping costs but the manual says I should have (2) 96” side beams for my 2x8 rack. This is how the one I have from a few years ago is. But this new one I have a box that has (4) 48” pieces I’d assume for the side beams that have to be put together to make the 96”?? The manual says nothing about this and by the time I use the bolts to put these (4) 48” beams together I will not have enough bolts to attach the rack to the vertical rails even only using 4 per and leaving the two center holes for the center beam. I lowered the sturdiness rating because I don’t know if it will hold as much as the older ones with the solid 96” beam will like the manual

We purchased two of these units, and installed one at the beginning of summer. It was easy to install, especially since I read the other reviews and very carefully mapped out our mounting plan ahead of time.Three months later it still looks great. We tried hanging the second one this weekend but found out our garage is not completely symmetric. Shocker I know! The ceiling mounts that they provided in the kit we're not long enough for the other side of the garage. The instructions were very clearly written. They said that if the provided mounts weren't long enough we should call and they would send us new mounts that would fit. We called the vendor and they answered the phone on a Saturday. The customer service rep was friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. They are shipping out ( at no extra charge) a longer ceiling Mount which should arrive before next weekend. I have been very satisfied with this product and the customer service

I love these so far. They went up pretty easily and seem really sturdy. The 2’x8’ model claims a 400 pound capacity. I don’t plan on getting close to that but they seem like they could handle it. I installed 3 end to end; 24’ across. The instructions do address how to “connect” these end to end. They’re not so much connected as the adjacent brackets get doubled up. It wasn’t apparently clear looking at the PDF instructions online but the printed instructions that came with the racks had better pictures and it was easy to figure out. Lots of available sizes. I’d recommend these to anyone & would buy again.

I was on the fence when it came down to ordering this brand as I have another brand for my 4x8's but they don't offer a 2x8 Solution. So I pulled the trigger and order the MonsterRax option. I am not sure where others have had issues putting this unit together, but for us it was an easy install and all the instructions matched perfectly. Secondly, the look is better given the bottom has a "lip" that is thicker than the competition. So I very much prefer the bold look of the MonsterRax vs the other unit I have. I have no worries about its sturdiness what so ever. The shipping, yes, that was annoying. It ships in two packages rather than one- first you get the brackets (ours came two days after order) and than you get the wire racks. The seller was responsive when we had the issue and they did what they could. My only wish was the unit did not ship in two boxes or at least that the shipping notifications show that ahead of time. But, that should not change the rating of the product. Overall very satisfied and happy we got them.

I have two of these - I only mount them 24 inches from the ceiling so I can walk under them. We have a significant mouse problem in the summer and the open grate shelf makes it difficult for them to build nests (as opposed to building a plywood shelf). A touch expensive, and they take awhile to install and pay attention to which bolts go where and the positioning of the correct metal struts or you will have to install the shelves more than once.

Replaced old wood shelving in Shop area. Be sure and watch the video link provided by the Company for installation. I ordered this product twice. Once all the pieces came at one time and another time it came in two shipments. It is well designed and very sturdy. Would recommend this item.

Loved the first 3X6 I purchased, I purchased two 2X8 for my garage and when my husband saw how useful they were he asked me to order two more for his garage. The 2X8 work very well on the perimeter of the garages where access is only available from one side. In a prior home we used 4X8 units where both sides were accessible as they were installed in the middle of the garage ceiling.

Product sturdy and solid once installed. A bit challenging securing to studs. Must be perfectly measured and installed to avoid issues with lining up the joints.
