Serfas Cork Bar Tape

Very easy to wrap and more than enough length even with a figure 8 around the brake hoods. Nice and stretchy without tearing. Looks just like what I expected from the product images. It has a rubbery fabric kind of feel and that's about the best I can explain it. It doesn't have the grippyness that rubber has, but just the feel of it. The texture feels more like a very fine fabric. Even with that, I've road about 50 miles with it so far and my hands haven't slipped at all. I don't have any complaints about this tape at all and I really like how it looks on my bike. It's a huge upgrade from the cheapo stuff that came stock on the bars of my road bike.If you have any questions just post a reply to this review and I'll get back to you. Bought by mistake thinking they were grips. Anyway I kept it and eventually wrapped bars on a different bike. Really nice color and nice cushion. Feels durable.

Great bar tape. Nice texture. Thick and stretchy which makes it easy to wrap the bars with. The only reason I am docking 1 star is because of quality control. My tape had a hole in it that was covered by a piece of masking tape - seems lazy. I only noticed after I had already wrapped the other side of the bar, so I made it work, but was disappointed in the quality control.

Installed this tape on butterfly/touring bars and was pleased that there was enough length, it was easy to install, and extremely comfortable. Grippy, cushy, no problems. This was maybe the third or fourth time I've installed bar tape and went on easily with no issues. Stretched enough for the butterfly curves but never worried about tearing. Used my own electrical tape, didn't seem like they included much of their stuff. The included bar caps fit inside my 22mm bars, but had very slight overhang, which wouldn't be a problem if you were wrapping your tape all the way to them. Seems like they could be trimmed by a person who cared to.Not even worth taking off a star, but be aware that the "dark red" color.. isn't. Close your eyes and think "red." That's the color. It's Coca-Cola red, Pepsi logo red, red like fire trucks and y'know, other red things. The same red you see in the picture. I had been hoping/expecting it was a rendering issue and the color would be more cherry red or even maroon. Figure even with gloves it'll get dirty fast enough that it doesn't really matter.Would order again.

This is not the most high quality product you can buy, although this can be seen from the description of the product. If you're looking for a really good tape, try the gel backed tape made by Cinelli or other reputable brands. This product is good for my uses. I have a black/gray/yellow bike and it looks awesome on my handle bars. I'm not as huge a fan as the adhesive back to this, but it works and I did have to redo it a few times and the stickiness maintained. The material is also kind of spongy/foamy and is comfortable and soaks up some sweat, but does not seem as durable as other brands. Although, all in all, this a great tape for the price, and the colors can't be beat if it goes with your bike, like in my case.

I tried 3 other cheapie brands before this. They were too thick, had bad adhesive tape on back, or werent stretchy enough to get a tight wrap. I'm not surprised these tapes are better being from a known cyling brand like Serfas. From now on I'll just spend the extra and get a name brand for bar tape. Would definitely buy this brand again. Has good amount of stretch to where the tape hugs the bar tightly. Adhesive on back is just right, can be picked up and repositioned while wrapping while other tapes have cheap double stick tape on back.

The tape is apparently good quality: long enough for big-drop 44cm bars with some left over and has a good feel. But I hope it wears out soon. It looks terrible -- nothing like as advertised. Either they sent me the wrong color or the color is not at all as advertised. I ordered and wanted a dark brown and a marbling pattern. This is a pale, pinkish flesh color and the pattern is like a cheap imitation of army desert camo. Looks like a soiled ace bandage. There is no indication on the box of what color this is supposed to be.

Bought this for a Bianchi build. Perfect color match. Great quality - thick, pliable, I could get pretty aggressive with it while wrapping. Nice texture.
