Premium Quality Post Motor Hepa Filter Designed to Fit Dyson DC18 Vacuum Cleaners

I never realize that my Dyson dc18 had a replaceable filter. While it is 16 years old it was beginning to smell funky. After replacing this filter and washing the secondary filter it vacuums without any order at all. It takes quite a bit of work to get this filter into it's proper place but once you know how to do it it's not too bad.

As others have stated, this filter came with the (tyvek?) covering on one side only partially attached. The old glue was there, but it appeared to have been warehoused too long - my opinion only. I used some Loctite Go Gel to repair it instead of returning. It will likely hold up well, but another "thing" I didn't want to do.

My Dyson is old and I can't remember the last time the suction was so powerful! Great price and Dyson made it easy to install.

Replaced my 10+ year old filter and it improved performance. To do this pull the hose tube out the vacuum. Now use a torx T15 screwdriver (not a socket driver bit) and remove the 2 screws that hold the bottom cord winding bracket. Pull the bracket off and you will see a small locking mechanism in the center. Slide it to release the filter cover to rotate and remove cover. Remove old filter and insert new. Reassemble. Very easy.

This must be out of spec compared to the airflow of a real filter as mine tore within minutes of using it.

Great filter for our Dyson vacuum. Exactly like the original filter. Don't let the manual give you the idea that this is a lifetime filter. Over the years we kept cleaning the washable filter and we finally replaced it with a new one but all the smell from running the vacuum was still there. The manual says this is a lifetime filter but replacing it gave us clean smelling fresh air after replacing it. YouTube has videos on how to replace it if you need some guidance on how to do it. Not hard at all. And the suction is vastly improved - just like new.

Breathing easier by replacing both filters in the Dyson upright (have very bad allergies). Added bonus is not spending money on a new vacuum and getting more life out of the vacuum
