Build Up Your LEGO Winter Village: Christmas Train

We absolutely love this set - got it for my 4 year old son who loves trains and Lego. He preferred it over any other set because of the fun cars. The engine with rods is our favorite, but we have been having a lot of fun playing with the cars. It was great how we could choose the ones we liked. We did not get the parts or make the passenger car or gingerbread but did all the others.I only have two suggestions. One is that I had never used Brick Link and the steps didn’t include how to order from several wish lists at once so I ended up combining all the files into one and trying to upload and combine the duplicates. It wasn’t easy. Realized later that AFTER you click Buy All you can select additional wish lists to add before you auto select.Also, the motor in the instructions is the old version that I’ve heard is not very strong so I didn’t want. I un-motorized it and modified the instructions to work as a push train. I had to extend/double the tall part of the boiler to account for the extra motor part but it looks good. If we ever want to add a newer motor it will be easy.This is the best train in our set, though, and we absolutely love it.
