Lulu Loves Flowers (Booky Girl Lulu): 4

Great reality based book - lovey gentle intro to gardening
Great book to introduce flowers growing. Follows the poem Mary Mary Quite Contrary. We went to the library today and despite having this at home my two year old little girl picked this off the shelf and sat and 'read' it herself out loud happily. Would be good to build a unit study around if that's the sort of thing you're interested in - Lulu plants her flowers, bakes cakes, crafts a string of silver bells and a little doll with her mother and makes up her own story. The books says there is also a website which supports these activities, although I haven't used that yet.

A gorgeous book!
This is a really lovely story - perfect for my two-year-old who is just starting to really enjoy the plants and flowers in the garden. Beautifully illustrated and good quality production. Highly recommended!

Brilliant for inspiring reading and getting children outside
Everything Lulu does is done with joy and enthusiasm of any young child. She just completely throws herself into whatever she’s doing! I love how a whole gardening project is born out of Lulu’s life for a nursery rhyme and a visit to the library. Lulu Loves Flowers is a great choice for encouraging children to get outside with their family and friends and enjoy nature. 2+
