Good
I ordered this to make poi mochi for my spouse. I have never had poi before and had trouble finding it but low and behold Amazon to the rescue. I received a small bag of poi powder in which I had to add water to make the poi.I made poi mochi from a recipe found online and it came out amazing. My spouse and his mom said it reminded them of Hawaii.

Tried it once. Loved it!
10/10. Tasted amazing and of amazing nutritional value. Hard to argue the price vs value if you can not argue a healthy alternative but give it a try!

Seems like a good product. But a little pricey though!
I purchased this smaller size to try it out. I originally intended to use it straight, or raw, without cooking it first by adding a spoonful to my morning smoothie. I do not know about the taste as I have been mixing it with other ingredients. I wasn't sure at first if mixing it raw without cooking it first was a good idea, but after a week of using it each morning by adding one table spoon to my smoothie, I didn't have any bloating or excessive fullness. So far, so good. My only concern is if my body is actually absorbing the nutrients of this product without cooking it first. I have been noticing that I haven't been as hungry throughout the day as before. One of the main reasons why people over eat is due to the poor nutritional value of the foods most choose to eat leading the body to be constantly hungry that leads many to over eat on a regular basis which leads to becoming overweight. I used to be a competitive lifter before age and injuries got the better of me. It was very well known, even back in the 1980's when I first started lifting, that Poi was a secret ingredient that only Pacific Islanders had the luxury of using and having regular access to. Top bodybuilders as well as other competitive lifters often looked forward to visiting Hawaii, not only for the beaches, but for the Poi! So far, it seems as if this product fits the bill and will be apart of my morning smoothies. My only complaint is the cost. Especially for the smaller size. But, sometimes you have to pay for the things you want. So far, I think this product is worth it. I didn't give it five stars because of the price.

Add water and let it soften over night!!
I wanted to surprise my mom who is a local girl. I was skeptical when I bought this, but I had no choice we cannot find poi anywhere around here. So as a surprise I bought this little packet of dehydrated poi powder and made it for her… success!!I had read some of the reviews. Many people said to get rid of the grittiness of the powder add in the water then stir, just like directed but let it sit in the refrigerator overnight before cooking it so that is exactly what I did.Day 1: mix 4 tbsp poi powder with 1 cup water , mix well cover and put in the fridgeDay 2:-take the mixed poi out of the fridge and stir-cook in pot it till a light boil-transfer hot poi back to bowl and leave at room temperature for a couple hours- refrigerated for 3-4 hours and serve cold with lomi salmonLomi salmon simple:( fresh cut tomatoes, salted salmon or cured salmon , chopped onions, chopped green onions, bit of soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin to taste )Hope this helps!Aloha!

I would give this zero stars if that was possible
Having been raised in Hawaii and eating poi on a regular basis, I missed it when moving to the mainland. I was happy to see that this was available and couldn’t wait to try it. That was a horrible experience. This was the worst tasting crud that I’ve ever had. What a huge disappointment. The taste was horrendous. It tasted like melted plastic. As expensive as it was, I tried to eat it anyway, but just couldn’t. I ended up throwing most of it away. What a waste of money. Taro Brand should be ashamed of themselves for selling this.

I wasn't expecting this to taste great or anything
Honestly, I wasn't expecting this to taste great or anything, but it was less than I expected. I was raised in Hawaii, so I know what real fresh poi tastes like. I knew that poi was a great first food for babies, I bought this for my 5 1/2 month old daughter to have as one of her first foods, she kinda liked it at first but after the third bite, she was over it. Then we couldn't get her to try it anymore, and it made her constipated, she didn't poop for a week (although it might have been our fault for not knowing we needed to give her regular water for her to digest it properly).Anyone that hasn't had real fresh poi before trying this is going to be extremely disappointed, it's is bland, real fresh poi is tasty. For $13 it wasn't worth it. I would probably buy it again if it were <$5
