UPDATE: 5/21/19Sophie from DS contacted me after reading my review. She apologized that I had received a couple bad examples of their product. She offered to send me replacements that were the correct size to fit all USB ports. Wow. I never sent an email wanting anything, was just going to live with the old lights since they function well, just don’t it all USBs. They reached out to me and offered replacements. That is great customer service! I received the new lights and the USB ends look the same but are just barely smaller than the original so they fit perfectly. Updating my review to 5 stars due to amazing customer service and a great product.Original review: The light looks and works just like the more expensive Luminoodle RGB light. The light it puts out isn’t crazy bright but in a dark tent it lights up well. The magnets suck, too weak to stick to anything. The included rubber wraps work well.Now for the bad news. The USB plug is too big! It’s a little thicker than a regular USB end. I guess so it’s more rugged. The problem is that it won’t go into some USB battery packs. I have 3 different packs and it will only go into one of them. I guess I could shave down the sides with a razor but you shouldn’t have to do that.

Since most people nowadays probably have a small rechargeable power supply, these are great to have for regular use or emergency. During a power outage one of these was enough to illuminate a whole room. (ever seen Pitch Black? Like the people in there, you can drape this around you to brighten every room you go into!) If you take an infant or toddler out trick or treating or on a walk in the evening, attach this to their stroller and they will be well-lit and visible. You can even set up to have them change colors. One setting will make them flash between blue and red...so if they want to dress up like a police officer they'll be all set.

Great little string light setup.Using it with my own 24000 mah battery (does not come with battery supply) and it lasts forever. The light is much brighter than expected and is perfect for in the tent or around camp.The silicone zip ties and the magnetic strips make it easy to hang.The main downside for me would be durability, I wish they used a strong paracord for the pull tie and, that the bag was waterproof to protect my battery.Great for around the camp, get a better bag if you intend to use it in rainy conditions.

The media could not be loaded. 6/20/20 okay at first they worked for like a whole 5 mins then only the blue worked so I figured the wired soldered to the control module fell off and I know how to fix it so I did I resoldered the wire leads back on to the circuit board and they work perfect and definitely a lot stronger after I did them right so in my opinion if you know how to solder would be an easy fix.Now the magnets you can move them around on the rope to place them where you want and they work pretty good the 3 orange ties it comes with seem durable the usb price that you plug into your power source fit just right if you plug it in the right way. (now not upside down)Has 5 brightness choices and modes just standard strobe and fade in between colors which is nice and you can change the speed of the strobe and the fade.Overall besides the fact that It was a 10 min project to fix I like the idea but hopefully they fix this I would buy them again also if longer would be nice too.Good luck

I bought these lights for the great price and ability to change the colors after having a significantly more pricey brand a while ago. I bought the Luminoodle brand off Woot a while back and really like them but they were white only and dimmable, so a little obnoxious for me to use in some situations. (I play sound meditations for groups, typically in the evening in darker spaces...) when I saw these, I was all in ! And they work great, are color changeable, dimmable, and the rope is a bit shorter, which actually works out better for me. And I really like that lighting them in the bag creates a cool, diffused “lantern”. Nice product, will buy more!

The lights seemed good at first - good color options and brightness levels.HOWEVER: The buttons are flat and so hard to press. Bad product design. After using it while camping about 4 times the "Mode" button that turns it on started to be finicky. It worked poorly (sometimes turning on and sometimes not). And the 5th time I used these lights, it just stopped working completely (even when I paired it with 3 other battery packs). It's just poorly built with crappy button design and wiring.I understand that this is a pretty cheap product. BUT, it does not mean that it's OK that this is a throw away after only a few times of use. Thats so wasteful and misleading. This product is not worth it. It will cost you more in the end to keep replacing it.

This product has really impressed me, especially for the price. I have several LED strings in the house, used for decorative lighting and controlled by voice assistant. However that was not my goal here. I was looking for something to use both in a tent and in my SUV that I use occassionaly as a self contained camper instead of a tent.This product is perfect for that. I can control not only the brightness but the color, so I can have a dim red to see at night without blowing my night vision, a brighter color when needed and can use the lights in the campsite or in the tent.5v usb powered, so running it off a power bank is perfect. It's LED so low power draw, but I prefer to not run anything off the truck overnight. I always have a power bank available so this is great.I wholeheartedly recommend this for anyone who camps regularly.

I used this product last weekend while camping and plugged it into a 10,000mAh battery. Both the battery and the lights themselves were really hot when I unplugged them. The lights lasted for about 2 hours on that battery which honestly makes me somewhat suspect of the battery rather than the lights. They have a nice, soft silicone covering like the more expensive version, and the carry bag is nice for hanging up to use as a lantern.

The lights arrived yesterday and when I opened the box I immediately noticed the 3 orange ties were missing. I plugged the lights into 3 different USB devices that were fully charged but the lights did not come on. I'm quite disappointed obviously b/c I was really looking forward to using them. I chatted with Amazon Support and they suggested a replacement or refund which they issued me a 'return label'. Unfortunately I have to pay postage to return the lights b/c they are from the USA and I would be mailing them from Canada which will cost me as much or similar to what I paid for the lights as Canada Post is ridiculously expensive. I'm so disappointed and frustrated. :(
