perfect coffee maker!
This coffee maker is beautiful. Not only is it nice to look at, but it will save you tons of money on buying coffee to-go. This coffee maker makes about 3/4 of a pot of coffee. The silicone edge is a great idea, so it doesn't scrape the sides. The plunger is pretty sturdy and doesn't feel loose. I have had it for more than a month and notice no rust spots or fingerprints.Usually what I do is get a 5 lb. bag of beans from Costco, grind them, and put filtered water in an electric kettle. Make sure the grind is very coarse, so that it doesn't clog the filter. If you let the coffee sit for a while, the french press will even keep it hot for you for about an hour.I used to own several glass french presses, but of course they all broke, one by one. With this french press, there's no need to worry about it in case you drop it, or it bursting suddenly from a temperature change. This would make a perfect gift for a coffee aficionado.

Keeps coffee hot, but doesn't filter grounds well
Have used this french press for about 4-5 months now, with pros and cons.On the plus side, it holds a little more than two good-sized mug's worth, so I can make coffee for me and my wife at the same time. Its double wall construction keeps the outside cool to the touch, and the inside hot for extended periods of time; even an hour later coffee is at a hot but drinkable temperature. The pour spout does a good job without drips or spills. The stainless steel is easy to clean and goes through the dishwasher fine.On the bad side, it's not so great at filtering out the grounds, especially on first brew when they are not yet saturated and sink to the bottom. Even after stirring and letting steep for several minutes, even large grounds routinely bypass the plunger seal. I've experimented a bunch with this issue with all types of grounds, large and small. They get saturated just enough to clog the filter and prevent liquid from passing through, but not enough to sink on their own, forcing them around the seal and up on top. Repeated pours of hot water into the same grounds do a much better job, as the grounds sink better. (Fine grounds e.g. Lavazza just go right through the filter; you might as well not even have one.) The plunger is not very tight-fitting and will sink on its own unless held up. I use a rubber band stretched around the handle and plunger shaft which does the trick, though it's a bit awkward to install.Back when I ordered it, the manufacturer seemed rather intent on finding out my satisfaction even before it arrived from Amazon. They post customer service email addresses and seem to be fairly transparent and customer-centric. I give them an A for effort at least. I have not contacted them about any problems with the press, because it's not really worth my time. Overall, this press is a decent product, but I think if it broke, I'd try a different one next time.

Gorgeous, easy to use, and reliable!
I use this at work because the coffee they make at work is like tar to me! This is a great looking press that I get a lot of comments on every day! I'll never go back to drinking the well coffee again! The best part about this press is it does not leak when pouring! My last press would always leak coffee on my lap or on my desk when I was pouring a cup, but this does not have that problem! The screen is of HIGH quality and it keeps my coffee warm till lunch! Great product, would buy again!

I was excited for this new press but...
I was super excited to get this nice looking french press that would keep my coffee warm for longer than my glass beaker style french press. The press looks beautiful and operates smoothly, even pouring is nice. But unless you like chewing your coffee I cannot recommend it because the coffee is full of coffee grounds. The press uses a silicone edge to make it operate more smoothly than most presses but many grounds large and small are getting past and into my teeth. Not just one or two per cup but several. Back to my old glass broken handle model.

Not a good enough seal among other things
It looks very pretty... however it gets lots of grounds in your coffee... I’m a seasoned French press user and thought I’d try the stainless type since I smashed my glass in recently... I was intrigued with the prospect of it keeping my coffee warmer for longer. But it doesn’t keep it warm longer than 45 minutes, so to me the stainless steel taste isn’t worth the perks of durability and insulation... this I will be returning

Looks are great; performance is OK.
I've been using my press for a year now, and it's functioning as well as when it was new. These are my observations of its strength and weaknesses:First, the most obvious: a metal coffee press won't break. I've broken enough coffee presses while cleaning them that this alone might be reason enough to choose this one.Second: it looks good. It's a simple design, easy to keep polished and gleaming, and is more attractive on a kitchen counter or breakfast table than a typical glass press.Third: the double-wall construction keeps its exterior cool enough to handle safely, and keeps coffee warm longer than a glass press. On the other hand, a fact that I still find annoying is that if you want to make a single serving, the opaque walls make it difficult to estimate the amount you're making. If your routine is to make two large or three small servings, this won't be an issue.;More generally, I feel it was made more for form than for function. The filter simply doesn't seal as well as the glass presses I'm used to. I don't know whether this is bad design, or whether metal just doesn't seal as well as glass. In any case, it doesn't filter quite as cleanly as I'd like. The lip also looks nice, but is too broad; it is more prone to drips and dribbles than I'd like. These are minor complaints. If you want a press that you can fill while making breakfast, and then carry to the table with the coffee still hot, this will probably serve you well at modest cost.
