Classic Characters of Little Golden Books: The Poky Little Puppy, Tootle, The Saggy Baggy Elephant, Tawny Scrawny Lion, and Scuffy the Tugboat

We were doing 'bring a book instead of a card' for daughter's baby shower, nursery theme is elephants so I was looking for Little Golden Book "The Saggy Baggy Elephant." I had read these books to my daughter over and over when she was little so I thought it appropriate. I was going to purchase this single book but noticed further down the page that for just a little more (the set was on sale 50% off) I could get a set which included the book I wanted. Of course, I purchased it! The books are exactly as described and what you would expect from Little Golden Books. They arrived on time, packaged in a cardboard sleeve, and in perfect condition. I'm happy with this purchase.

Perfect baby shower gift

I bought this set as a Christmas present for my niece's three little girls; no child should grow up without Little Golden Books! These stories are some of my favorite book memories: I was read to as a small child, and then read them to myself as I got older. (My brother used to tell me rather impatiently that I would be able to read faster if I read SILENTLY--ha!) I read them to my children, and am eagerly waiting for a grandchild one day so I can read them to him/her. Little Golden Books are wonderful, creative, sweet stories that capture a child's imagination and often teach gentle lessons. To this day, "The Poky Little Puppy" and "Tootle" are favorites of mine and my three grown children! Stash the computer and iPad regularly and READ these to your kids!

I bought this for my son's first birthday. His birthday party was Golden Books themed, so I wanted him to actually have some of the books. My family are really in to books and reading, and I grew up with a ton of Golden Books. In fact, my mom still has probably a hundred of them (they are about 25 years old now!). The ones in this set are some of the classics and a perfect start to my son's Golden Book collection. I plan to continue building his collection up over the years so that maybe I can have them for my grandkids to use in the future (the far, FAR away future, hopefully!).

Illustrations are all classic style and pretty to look at and imagine. Young kids will love you reading these stories out loud to them as they sit beside you looking at the pictures and talking about what they see.

I received the item quickly. The books were in great condition. Seller communicated quickly with me prior to shipping to make sure I understood exactly what I was getting. Very happy, and would buy from again.

Great potty chair reading. I purchased this set for my grandson's potty training. The stories are as I remember. The pictures are very bright & colorful.They are the GOLDEN BOOKS we also remember.The books measure 6 3/4" × 8" long. Each book has 12 pages in them. The five books come in a not very thick cardboard sleeve. The sleeve measures the same as the books , plus 1" thick for housing the five books .It isn't getting 5 stars because I think where the pages bind to the hard cover , it could been sealed, glued better. With this being said my tazmanian 2 year old grandson has not taken them apart . He looks at his books aways , and they are still in tact. I know things just aren't made the way they used to be , I guess books aren't either. But I feel it was money well spent . THANKS FOR READING! BYE

I was looking for nostalgic titles to read for my grandchildren and these were perfect.

These are perfect for preschoolers. Lots of colourful pictures and easy to understand stories. Highly recommend Started the golden books with my daughter when she was one year old Now she is a professor at a university I believe a good reader will do good in school Gol

I remember reading these as a child, many moons ago, and I suspect that both reader and children will enjoy them
