After reading the initial reviews I purchased this device. I should have done some more research of the reviews though. Most said how great it was for cooling the PS4 and included the pics. But now going back I see most of the pics do NOT show anyone charging 4 controllers, which was the MAIN reason I chose this model. Mine arrived the fan worked fine, the PS4 fit snuggly in the compartment, but none of the controllers would charge in the slots! I kept playing with the controllers in the slots to get them to charge and was finally able to do it buy pushing the controllers outward away from the PS4. But as soon as I would stopping pushing outward and let the controller "rest" normally in the dedicated slots it would stop charging.Next time I'll read more reviews and not go by the people who received the item for free with their pics not showing the unit in use...

Nice but could be better.
I bought this about a year and a half ago and only have 3 minor issues with it.It works well, but the usb plugs for the fans take up both slots in the console. I'm not sure why they didn't just power them through one plug. The other issue I've had so far is the one controller dock I mainly use has stopped working. The other 3 docks work just fine. Not a huge deal since I only have 2 controllers, but still stinks that it quit working just over 1 year with moderate use.The last issue is the light on the front of the stand. It is a REALLY BRIGHT blue led. It can't be turned off, and it's right on the front of the stand so it's blinding if your system isn't in an enclosure. I ended up putting a piece of tape over it which eventually fell off. I'm going to try putting a small blob of paint or nail polish over it next to see if that blocks out the super bright blue sun.Aside form those 3 things I'm really happy with it. My console runs at a nice safe temperature even on the hottest days of the year. My controllers stay charged up (expect when the one dock died), and it keeps the console steady while it's in a space saving vertical position.

but the quality of the build is so poor that the port is misaligned inside the base
The only reason this product is getting two stars from me is because it has some functionality as a cooling fan. Unfortunately, the fans do not draw much air. Additionally, the power for the fans (and 4x controllers charging) comes from the two USB ports in front of the console. The advertised DC in is misleading. There is a little port that says DC on it, but the quality of the build is so poor that the port is misaligned inside the base. Furthermore, the port is located on the front of the base rather than the back. If I could plug something into the misaligned port, the wires would not have a very clean look.I tried to charge my controller overnight and didn't like two things about the product. First, the reason I wanted a controller charger was so that I could charge my controllers without leaving the console on or in Rest Mode (additionally problem with not being able to use the misaligned DC port). I've experienced too many power outages during thunderstorm seasons and prefer to shut my console completely off. Secondly, I only had two controllers on the base overnight, and neither charged. I initially though that it was because the whole base was pulling too much from the USB ports, but the fans were off and nothing else on the base was pulling power except for the little LED light above the DC port. As I moved the controllers around in the dock I noticed them starting to charge but when I let go of them, they would stop charging. I had to place some folded up pieces of paper in strategic spots to get the controller to sit correctly in the dock where it would continue to charge.Lastly, the box says space for four controllers, but also says that I can only charge up to two controllers at a time. When I expand to four controllers, will this dock be worthless for charging all four of them? What good is a 4-controller docking station if I can only charge two controllers at a time? The idea of having the cooling fans is great, but they need to move more air. Other than that, getting the controllers to charge shouldn’t be such a hassle. I might as well plug them into the USB ports on the console where I know they won’t stop charging.

Excellent charger and fan
This unit will charge up to 4 controllers at the same time - 2 on each side - and each side is turned on by a switch in front. If you dont press the switch, which activates a blue light, then the chargers won't work. Initially I missed that and thought 2 of the chargers weren't working. Since I still have the charging cord, I can actually attach an additional controller, therefore I can have 5 controllers charging at the same time. The thing I like about keeping the charging cord around - you can see if the controller is fully charged by looking at the front of the controller. That's the only drawback to putting the controllers face down - you can't see the front of them which shows yellow when they aren't fully charged.I did find a minor issue in that you must be very careful to ensure the controllers are properly seeded so that they charge in the slots where you can do that. Else, you will discover that you've got uncharged controllers. However, once you get used to how they fit in the slots, it's easily checked.I really like the fan as there are occasions where I play for 5-6 hours at a time and that can cause quite a bit of heat to build up, especially if you keep your console in an entertainment center, or up against a wall. I noticed that the audio would go out in some games if the console was on for 5-6 hours at a time, and it no longer is an issue now that I'm using this unit.I also like having the unit standing on it's side. It gives me more room in my entertainment center. The unit will turn on/off in conjunction with the rest mode - if it turns on to charge, the cooling fans/charging station will also turn on. Therefore, it's very noticeable if the PS4 turns itself on.There is a small blue light in the front of the unit on each side which makes it obvious to notice when each side is on, but I was pleasantly surprised to find the fans quieter than I expected.A wise purchase for the frequent PS4 user.
