Fun for adults too!
I had previously gotten another "Active Life" game with mat that I would have enjoyed had the games not been so juvenile-- we're in our 50's, have no kids, it's just my husband and me and a wii. When I saw the reviews for this game that mentioned it being fun for adults too, I knew I'd have to try it.I had some concerns about the reviews that said it was difficult for two adults to play the competition games at the same time-- and in fairness, the game shows two thin kids standing on the game mat comfortably together. I assumed my husband and I probably wouldn't be able to play any of the direct competition games together. WRONG!I'm a big girl, and my husband is no slouch in girth either. Yet we were able to stand on the game mat together and move around. Yes, we nudged each other a little here and there, but we like each other so the little bit of love-bumping wasn't a problem. It would have been nice had the game mat been a foot wider to make it more comfortable for adults, but the game mat as is didn't deter us from playing any of the "friend battles".We just got the game last night, and we only played the "friend battles" so I can't comment about the other games (there seems to be a lot). Some of the games are clearly aimed more at the kids-- we played them once and were bored (but I could see where a kid, even a teen, would enjoy it much more). The rock climbing games, inline skating, and a few of the others were a lot of fun. We both enjoyed the challenge of the parachute drop, but it seemed a little unfair that the first one to make it through the sequence got their parachute opened while the other player bombed. It would have been more fun had it been a timed game like one of the rock climbing games (the one where one climbs the wall while the other throws rocks). We were having so much fun, an hour passed before we knew it. What a great way to work off dinner! This morning we are both looking forward to playing more tonight.

Fun for the whole family!
This game is a lot of fun for the whole family. You need a little space for the mat, but set-up is very easy and everyone got to enjoy the fun. I will say that if you're over 35 and a little out of shape, the double-dutch could kill you! It's too fun to quit when you're doing well, so you have to know when to stop. :-) Some of the activities are more challenging than others, and it takes a little time to learn how the mat responds to various input, as well as how to time that input to score well on the games. While this is great fun, it's not so addictive and time-consuming that it stays out all the time. The kids will play with it for a few days, then put it away for a couple of weeks before getting it out again. Still not sure if this mat works with any of the dance games, but I'd like to find out.

Not as fun as reviews led me to expect (Adult perspective)
I'm not happy and will be returning this game. Like "Rick" below, I bought it based on the reviews here, when it was offered at a bit of a discount as a an Amazon "Deal of the Day". Having bought a couple other Wii activity games before (Wii Fit and EA Active), I was looking for some new variety. But the Extreme Challenge was just not that enthralling, and was often more annoying than fun. First, even at the basic levels, some of the games were frustrating (like kite surfing, where the controls and needed actions weren't intuitive). It kind of felt more similar to traditional (non-Wii) games where there's an expectation that it SHOULD be tricky and only those "in the know" or who can figure it out should have the most fun. That didn't suit me, as an adult, and it's not what I've come to expect from Wii games.Second, besides the mat not being wide enough for two adults (as others had commented), I was also annoyed to find that it tends to slip as you jump, especially in the jump-roping (but also other games). Given that landing accurately is key, yet you have to look up at the screen to know where to land, the movement of the mat was really frustrating. And having to play without shoes also added a bit of strain to the action. Then, as others have noted, it just didn't feel like I was always really exerting physically, which was my main goal. Perhaps later levels or other games I didn't play would have gone better.Clearly, others have enjoyed it, so more power to them. There will be one more available in the warehouse for you.

My 11 year old doesn't care much for it.
I bought this for my 11 year old son. I wanted him to have a game that would give him (us, actually) a fun work-out. A few of the games we enjoy, but, for the most part, my son won't play it for more than 10 or 15 minutes. It's not because he's too tired; it's because he gets bored with it. The games are far too short in length. Most don't seem to last more than two minutes, which is really not enough time to get into it. I'm disappointed with this purchase. I did, however, also purchase a Wii game called Just Dance for myself. I thought it would be fun to do with friends and be good exercise for me. It turns out my 11 year old son LOVES this game as much as I do, so we're both still getting a fun workout with Just Dance.
