BICAmerica H-100II 12-Inch 150 Watt Front Firing Powered Subwoofer, (Black)

Was surprised how good this sub sounded, very reasonibly priced.

I remember BIC from when I was young and when I was searching for a good subwoofer, I thought of the F12 and once I checked them out, I picked this instead. I have had it for a few days and I am very happy with it. It came well packaged and it arrived with no damage from the USPS.I hooked it up to the subwoofer port on the back of my Vanatoo Transparent Ones and set the volume at about 1/4 and tested it out. It took a bit of time, but I finally got it low enough to just disappear. This thing could pair with a much larger set of speakers. It can shake the house if you are into that sort of thing. It can make your neighbors call the police if you are not careful.The bass is nice and tight for a 12" woofer and it can go more than low enough for music. That is all I need it to do and it does it well.Nice job BIC!

*Update*Almost a year later and it's loosened up a bit. Sounds much better and I think it probably rivals the old F12. Good value. No issues with it.A nice sounding sub with decent low end. I also have an old Bic F12 which I may prefer a tad better for the price. Nicely constructed and looks good with the piano finish. It's a bit of a fingerprint magnet, but it's not like I'm handling it all the time so no biggie.Satisfied with the purchase. As it breaks in further (haven't driven it too hard yet) my opinion may change. Will update if it does.As a side note it was packaged very well. The outside off the box, looked a little mangy, but it was in perfect condition upon opening.

Totally great product. The finish is gorgeous. The fit of the grill is precise and flush with cabinet.Sound is awesome. Really fills the sound stage with tight bass, yet doesn't take over. Music is rich, and LFE can knock you off the couch in some movies.I raised all my floor standing speakers off the carpet, made a big difference in sound quality. I'm using ISO Acoustics isolation stand for the BIC (it's heavier than my 12" 3 way main speakers). You could not go wrong with this great sub.Will recommend this to everyone!

I needed a sub that accepted speaker-level inputs, since my tube amp does not have a sub output jack. I purposely tuned the sub to lower gain (volume) and matched the crossover point to my stereo speakers. I am very pleased with the combined sound from my system. Note: I do not use them for movies or other high-impact bass, so I can't comment on their ability to shake the walls (although there is plenty of gain adjustment left for more bass output).

You can't go wrong with this sub. I have it hooked up to my pair of Dynaco MK III's mostly for playing vinyl and it sounds great! It was the missing piece in my sound system. Not only that, it looks awesome too with the black lacquer top and the dark wood cabinet. I read a lot of reviews before buying this and I'm glad I decided to get the Bic. Why spend a ton of money when you can have better quality for so much less.

I've had this sub about seven years and finally getting around to reviewing it now that I'm thinking of a replacement or running a second one.First the good, the 24 Hz is no joke, it reaches pretty low and I've tested audio clips and 24 Hz was reproduced just fine. Explosions and the like will rattle your walls, I keep my sub gain knob about halfway up. In 2017 I did have the plate amp blow (loud pop then just fuzz), BIC sent me a new one pretty quick via email contact, no issues since.The bad, with music the sub can struggle a little bit on fast bass tracks, especially if the gain is turned too high. Metallica's Death Magnetic blu-ray can show some definite weakness on a few tracks. (On the flip side, slow bass tracks like you find with blues rock such as Bonamassa's Live at the Greek Theatre sound amazing, just not thrash metal).I'm currently struggling with the decision to run a second one of these subs or just upgrade to an SVS or Monolith.

I have a Marrantz NR1608 in a 2.1 setup with PSB floor speakers. Room size is 20 ft by 16ft with openings on two walls for the dining room and front foyer. Mostly used for music (Jazz, classical, Reggae, r&b, folk, ambient) After much research and without the ability to go out and test listen due to covid, had to rely alot on reviews. So thought I'd give my 2 cents as it helped me in deciding. Quick delivery and packaging was great. Undamaged. It is a big subwoofer. Took some time to tinker around with but when it was up and running I was quite impressed. Music wise, I got the depth I wanted for all genres, specially for Reggae where the bass can range from deep to background rumble. This subwoofer executed the differences in bass ranges superbly. Never felt under powered. Using it in the home theatre setup, the subwoofer transformed the musical bass into a thunderous clap or hail of bullets and explosion rumble/boom very nicely for watching movies or playing video games. Never sounded muddy or cloudy as some subwoofers I've had in the past. Very happy with the purchase. Only disappointment was where the speaker meets the housing is the apparent miscalculation in not applying enough material over the speaker box (as in picture). As this is minor and the speaker grill is always on at my house with kids present, I've forgotten about it. Amp is always cool to the touch and no other defects noted. Great buy.
