Kraus 19 3/4 Inch Stainless Steel Kitchen Sink, Durable 18 Gauge Single Bowl Kitchen Sinks Undermount, KBU11

First of all, I wanted a single bowl sink that didn't overwhelm my kitchen counter. And, I wanted a sink that was less industrial looking than the commercial-like sinks. The design of the sink with its rounded corners makes cleaning easy. Like all stainless products, it shows water spots if you don't wipe them up. But Kraus included a micro-towel for this purpose. The sink is quiet due to the sound dampening Kraus has put on the outside walls and underside. I especially like the drain rack that fits in the bottom. It is functional but stylish. The rack comes with extra feet and bumpers so you can replace them when you need to. While this is a relatively small sink, I can put a dishpan on one side and still have room in the sink to rinse things off. A great choice for the new quartz counters we had installed.

I wanted a big, sturdy sink for our kitchen remodel. The layout demanded a 30" sink base, this was the biggest sink that the description said fit a 30" base, so we took a chance on it. Our local Kraftmaid rep happened to be at our house to issue replacement doors, and we spoke with him about our sink plans. We were concerned about compromising the structural integrity of the sink, or voiding the manufacturer's excellent warranty. We would have to cut out part of the wood on the top of both sides to get the sink to fit. He said that in no way would it void Kraftmaid's warranty. The wood pieces we were cutting apparently are for attaching Formica to the top of the cabinet - they do not affect the structural integrity of the cabinet at all! There is enough room in the base to leave ~1" on either side of the sink, once the cut has been made. We were thrilled and ordered the Kraus that day. Our plumber was impressed with the quality of the sink. We got lucky with installation, we had less than 1/4" clearance for the drain pipe underneath because we had not anticipated such a deep sink and drain - definitely make sure your plumber has the spec sheet info for the depth of the drain so he allows enough room underneath for the drain rough-in. We are so glad we did! The sink is cavernous - we can stack a pile of dirty dishes on one side, and strain a pot of pasta into a full-sized colander on the other. Overall a beautiful, durable sink for an excellent price, comes with all the accessories, and fits into a 30" sink base - this was a home run in our reno and one of the few decisions we didn't agonize over or second-guess (once we knew it would fit!) We would have loved to support an American company (the Kraus is made in China), however we put chunks of our reno budget towards bigger ticket items made in the USA (appliances, cabinets, etc), and were happy to get a quality sink for a reasonable price.

In terms of build and quality I just have to say this really is a quality sink and I plan to purchase a Kraus bathroom vessel sink down the road. My purchase was for a 'like new' used Amazon Warehouse return that claimed to only have package damage but no damage to the product (this saved me 30%). I have a feeling this is in part because the sink is so well protected in the box (inside the box and styrofoam it was in a custom made Kraus bag) but also it is so solid it would be hard to dent. The 16 gauge steel is the way to go with larger sinks and this sink makes less noise than our 2 basin sink did. This is also because of the dampening pads and the rubber coating that is sprayed on the bottom. Also included in the package is a template for installing the sink and I used this for our butcherblock countertop cutout which worked perfectly. The wire rack has been in ours since we installed it and we have not noticed any flaking or rust so I personally recommend using it to keep the basin free of scratches. We are not using the included drain as we installed a garbage disposal and we have not used the provided cloth, but a nice addition I guess. We are remodeling our home so I actually use this sink to clean brushes as we do not have a wash basin currently. The steel started looking 'milky' after about a month of this abuse. Using a non abrasive cleaner per the recommended care instructions I was able to polish it out in about 60 seconds and it looks brand new. The sink looks great. I will try and update this review down the road.

Super well made. Lot's of sound deadening material and is coated with material to help prevent sweating compared to Home Depot models. Perfectly polished - it's actually wrapped in a black CLOTH bag. Super easy installation, just make sure your opening (if already existing) lines up with inside edges.

I was initially disappointed that the sink did not contain a bottom grid despite Amazon referencing Krause’s website stating that it did and Amazon’s site containing pictures of a bottom grid for this particular model. I reached out to Krause Customer Service and was informed that they stopped including a bottom grid for this model over two years ago when they upgraded the quality of the stainless steel from the initial model. Kraus stated that Amazon was using older references and should have updated their site. Despite this, Kraus stated that under the circumstances, they would provide me a free bottom grid and did so. I was thus very pleased with Kraus Customer Service as well as the quality of the sink. I appreciate the fact that the engineering is such that water flows properly towards the drain in the middle. I would recommend this product but be aware it does not include a bottom grid.

Very happy with this sink. Very heavy duty, I didn't want the modern sinks that are square as too many people commenting that they are hard to clean and get into the corners. This is a quality large sink.

It looks great and function well

This sink arrived extremely well packed, wrapped in a fibre bag, surrounded by 1 inch foam and interior cardboard frame and then encased in a super strong cardboard box. The whole works was then inside an Amazon shipping box. Not surprisingly, it arrived in great shape! (I had worried about shipping this sort of item). The sink is heavy 16vs stainless nicely polished and some form of coating on the back, and comes with a nice strainer basket and bottom grate. Have not installed it but we are very impressed, for the price. Update: The sink has now been installed and both the countertop fabricator and plumber commented positively on its construction and quality.
