Caseway SC-125 Acrylic Cement (Pint (16 oz.))

This is the "classic" solvent weld glue for PMMA (Plexiglass TM). It requires accurate, close fit-up, of parts, and careful application. Typically you apply the very low viscosity (flows like water) solvent glue, to the fitted joint with a syringe, and capillary action draws it into the joint. The parts need to be held accurately in place, but can not be clamped so tightly that it prevents the solvent glue from penetrating the joint. It is not a "gap filling" glue, but a gap fitting glue can be made by dissolving powdered acrylic in a bit of this solvent glue. The other thing you need to know is the fumes are toxic (much like carbon tetra-chloride). Other similar solvents in this class, are suspected of contributing to the development of Parkinson Disease. This product works very well to bond the plexiglas sheets I use to build model cases. Must keep can tightly sealed as tends to evaporate rather quickly.
