This review is delayed, I bought this laptop over 2 years ago. Since then, I've recommended it to most of my friends (three of which own this now) and even bought one for my little sister as a college must-have. I've been able to do most of everything with this machine-- I managed to complete my degree, store thousands of songs, video-edit, graphic design, and even play Minecraft with no issues at all. The fans will kick on and the speakers are what you would expect for the price, but I have never had issues with it not booting up or handling my course load. It was between this laptop and a MacBook when I retired my old laptop, and I've never seen any of my stuck up Macbook-using friends ever handle what I've been able to accomplish on this device. I own an external speaker I use for when I'm playing music or watching Hulu, I use an external monitor to multi-task flawlessly, and even though the camera is fine, I use a Logitech camera for the late-night Discord calls with my friends. My only complaint is that the battery is not consistent, but I'm also unsure of that is due to my usage or due to the manufacturer. Some days I can get use for over 72 hours, other days I might get about 12. Sometimes I push the multi-tasking, and it struggles handling both a video Discord session (screen-sharing) with my friends and a Minecraft kick. Usually, when this is the case, I turn off my external monitor and only use voice (instead of video) and it'll return to its regular wear. Since I realized that it does struggle with RAM (only 4GBs is a shame but expected for the price), I usually use Discord over my phone instead and multitask other things on the Acer instead of pushing it and possibly wearing it out. I used to hate Acer, but now I will die on the hill that this laptop is something that won't only get your kids through college, it'll outlast your descendants. Still works the same as the day it arrived, and I have no plans of replacing it.

Not sure why my reviews keep getting removed, but here goes: This is an overall solid laptop. I've been using Acer's for years and they always perform to my expectation. Sure, you're not going to game very efficiently on this or render 4K videos in 30 minutes, but for the average computer user, this is the ticket! Processor is very fair for moderate desktop/workstation use and the SDD really speeds things up - if you're used to traditional HDD, you're in for a surprise. Solid states have come a long way and it shows when even simple, mid-grade laptops like this run lightning fast! The compact, lightweight case is also great. It's strong enough to handle moderate abuse and travel, but light enough to not be cumbersome. The keyboard is meh, but most laptop keyboards are so no issues there. Mousepad is the same - not impressive but not a major issue either. Overall, this is a great laptop for school, work, or normal home-business tasks. If you're looking to game or use processor or graphics-card taxing applications, then this isn't the laptop for you. Not to say it can't do it, but it definitely won't do it well.

First, Pros - boots up very fast, under a minute almost always. Light weight. Very good processing power. I'm a mobile DJ and karaoke host. Bought this as a replacement for aging laptop and has been great in that role. Second, Cons - only 4 gigs RAM, but is expandable... so I bought 8GB sodimm same speed memory and installed. Worked great, but then wouldn't boot up later. Became chronic issue that it just just plain wouldn't boot up, or gave black screen. I was very unhappy... called to get service (which they were great about, but was going to have to send away to get worked on... which wasn't great. I had barely had it and not even really used it) Before I sent it in, I removed the RAM I added. Booted like a champ. So for whatever reason, it did not like my added memory. Have been using for months now and works great on the 4 gigs it came with. So, if you're upgrading RAM, apparently buy upgrade when you get it or you have to send laptop to them to upgrade...and whatever cost associated. Other con, laptop locks up intermittently... perhaps once or twice a week at worst, during a 5+ hour run (I have a couple shows weekly) not sure why, and it is inconvenient, but reboot has it up and running in less than a minute and my karaoke program remembers all programmed songs and starts at beginning of song that hung up. Now I can't say for certain if this is laptop issue or karaoke program issue... so just be aware that it MAY be a laptop issue. Lastly, the charging cord is very lightweight... the cord from the power block to laptop is very thin and I'm already having issues with it. So handle gently or you may have to get a replacement right away. (Also no built in cd/DVD player, not the end of the world but something I miss) Bottom line - is it worth the money? Yes. Would I buy it again? Yes.

Terrific speed, size, weight, fingerprint ID, value. Really can’t get better bang for your buck. I’m officially a very big Acer fan. Only two issues: Chrome doesn’t run well (but Edge has proven to be a worthy substitute) and the screen could be a little brighter. But again, incredible value and performance.

I bought this for my wife to use and she really loves it. The keyboard lighting up is great, it has incredible picture quality, and is very easy to use. It does not have a DVD player but that is an almost useless feature today. I would recommend this unit to anyone who is looking for a good all around laptop for home use.

Comprei este note dia 31/03 e chegou dia 11/04 (moro no Brasil, em Jacarezinho/PR). A entrega foi muito rápida, tendo em vista que ele veio dos EUA, e sem nenhum dano na mercadoria. O notebook é muito bonito, a tela é linda, o teclado retroiluminado é um show à parte, o metal da tampa superior passa um ar mais premium. Falando sobre performance, antes eu utilizava um notebook com um i7 de 4ª geração, e a diferença foi brutal!! Trabalho com diversos programas pesados, como o premiere, blender, photoshop, illustrator, e todos rodam tranquilamente, sem esforço algum. Sobre upgrades, ele acompanha um ssd nvme de 256gb e uma "case" para adicionar mais um ssd sata - foi o que fiz, adicionei mais um ssd sata de 512gb. Já para memória RAM, existe um slot apenas - e ele está vago! Logo, acredito que os 8gb do notebook sejam soldados na placa-mãe, o que é vantajoso em um futuro upgrade, podendo adicionar mais 8gb e assim acionar o dual channel (muito melhor do que os lenovos vendidos aqui, com 4gb soldados e 4gb no slot, que caso sejam trocados por 8gb ou 16gb, ativariam o dual channel em flex mode apenas). Bom, é isso! Recomendo muito este notebook, foi a primeira vez que comprei algo internacional aqui na Amazon e me surpreendi com a entrega e a qualidade do produto, compraria outra vez sem nenhuma dúvida!

Foi uma ótima aquisição, as configurações vieram exatas como no anúncio, utilizei o app do CPU-Z para conferir... Veio com 8GB de RAM, recomendo fazer upgrade pois apesar do desempenho ser bom para redes sociais e trabalho, para jogos ele pede mais RAM... A tela dele é muito boa, tem IPS, e as cores são bem vivas e eu gosto disso... Eu faço design para minha empresa (não sou profissional, apenas quebra galho RS) mas ele tem me ajudado muito nessa área, enfim é um ótimo custo benefício, apesar de ser uma compra internacional chegou bem rápido (veio dos EUA para o Brasil - RJ em 8 dias), no cálculo tava dando mais de 15 dias, chegou na metade do tempo previsto praticamente.

Eu já estava há um bom tempo precisando de um computador e pesquisando bastante. Este foi um verdadeiro achado em questão de custo/benefício para o que eu precisava. Super leve, rápido e lindo! Sem contar a entrega, que foi muito mais rápida do que o esperado. Estou muito feliz com a minha compra!

Excelente compra, la recomiendo ampliamente haya el momento no ha presentado falla alguna, rápida al encender, la pantalla con una calidad muy buena gracias a los gráficos integrados, la conectividad también buena, claro que aquí dependerá de la velocidad del internet, la carga de las páginas excelente, el sonido bueno sin llegar a la excelencia, la carcasa se ve frágil pero es bastante resistente claro que debe tener sus cuidados como cualquier aparato similar, yo le agregué una RAM de 16GB y un SSD de 1TB, debido a que su RAM y almacenamiento son un poco justos pero con esta ampliación quedo un equipo completo y excelente, es un gasto mínimo pero obtendrás lo mejor de esta laptop muy contento con mi compra
