When I plug my laptop into it, and then play music through my laptop I get really bad cyclical sound ... is there a way to filter this out?

I'm going with audio engineer dude on this one. But really what I wanted to address, is people saying it's due to it being a modified sine wave. That's not your issue. Laptops don't run on AC, they run DC, so first off sine type isn't an issue. Second, anything not straight off the main grid or a generator is a modified sine. There are better and worse, but if you're going DC to AC, it's modified sine. In all honesty though, if you're running a laptop off an inverter, the best thing would be to see if you can adapt straight from your original source to a laptop charger, bypassing the whole AC conversion.

The descriptions and photos here show TWO(2) AC Outlets, but some reviews say it only has ONE(1). Which is it?

The unit that I received has 2 110v outlets and 2 usb ports. The unit was used on a recent trip to Texas and worked flawlessly.

Will this drain the car battery and does the car need to be running to use this?

It depends. If you have an ICE car with an internal combustion engine and a small "starter/ignition" battery, you won't want to run anything more than a few hours, maybe less if your battery is older or you've run it to dead a couple of times already. But for my electric car, I've used a small inverter in the accessory jack to power small things for up to a week, and hardly noticed it.

Will this work with/charge a 15 inch Macbook Pro?
