Peter Buck of REM, Baseball Project, Minus Five, and a million other famous projects is back with a new set of rock and roll. All done the old fashioned way - direct tape cut to lathe cut to vinyl. This time around we have everything from garage rock to psychedelic soundscapes to pretty ballads. All new tunes that will treat you right.

Wanted to like it
I had trouble listening to the whole record, if this was not peter buck than no one would care about this, and from the number of reviews it looks like no one does. I could go on about how great R.E.M. Was but this music makes me doubt their legacy. This sounds like a second rate bar band, nothing new or interesting musically, and I agree with the other reviewers about peters vocals (ouch). Wanted to like this but just couldn't get into it. Thanks for all the great music Peter.

My Mind is Less Than Blown Again
If Peter Buck had never been a member of R.E.M., would anyone care about this record? Actually, I think about the same number of people would either way. It has a quirky charm that certain fans of Young Fresh Fellows probably would have gravitated toward. Perhaps collectors of oddities would have stumbled across it and told a few of their friends. For me, it is not especially compelling music, even as a curio. Buck's voice has no business leading a song. Every now and again, he gets in a jangly guitar lick that is reminiscent of his best work. But mostly, these songs make me wish he would just hire a good singer and lyric writer. Oh, wait. I guess I mean he should just join a band that needs a jangly guitar player who can write some music. So why are we listening to this? I suppose for the few moments where a decent groove is laid down and a guest vocalist takes over. And for that novelty song about the Planet of the Apes. That one is fun. This beats his first LP but only by a hair.

Mind Blown
He blew my mind. This is a fantastic recording and a 'must have' for any rock music aficionado. A creative and original album by the best guitarist of our generation. What's not to love?

Blow my mind?
No Peter, you haven't blown my mind this time, but I love you the same.

R.E.M.s Peter Buck
Superb lp. Different from R.E.M, but still very melodic. Better sound too.

Sempre e solo Peter Buck
