It definitely helps dry them out but it's not a substitute for face wash.

What color is the mask when applied to face?

It’s a very light beige color, but it is not a mask. It is just a scrub that is very slightly rough to wash your face with. So it is more like a rough cleanser.

Is this good for dry skin?

It is a very good and affordable exfoliating scrub. It doesn’t add moisture, though, if that’s what you’re looking for. It doesn’t dry out my skin.

it looks like this product contains parabens?

I have been using Queen Helene Apricot Scrub almost daily for a few years. I'm 60 and get lots of compliments on how beautiful my skin looks! I also use prescription strength Retin-A, (Tretinoin) every other night. An amazing combination! As far as I know the parabens are WAX. Maybe you think you're allergic to it? I wouldn't let that stop you from trying this fantastic product! IMHO
