I purchased my first barrel from a monthly gifts subscription and was impressed by the flavor I got with the old fashion I aged. While browsing last week on Amazon, I came up on this barrel from American Oak Barrels and liked that I could customize it. When I place the order I was informed that it would be 10 days or more, BUT it arrived customized in 2 days! The quality of the wood is excellent, the lettering perfect, and started to cure it with the water, NO Leaks in 2 days, I'm extremely happy and satisfied, I'm sure the flavor will be equal if not better, but will have to wait 3 to 4 weeks. I recommend anyone that is considering using barrels to age their liquor to consider American Oak Barrels as their choice because of quality and service.

my husbands last name is crazy hardly anyone spells or says it right..not gonna lie i was a little nervous if the spelling was gonna be right.. but it was and perfectly!! i bought the barrel that holds a liter and its so perfect to stick on his desk such a conversation peice and its personlized...too cool!!

I received my first one and I could clearly see two gouges in the side of the barrel on the staves. I figured there is no way those would seal, and after a month of sitting with water in it, I was right, it still wouldn't seal. I called the company, sent pictures, and they sent me a replacement. The replacement leaks! After 2 weeks with water, the leak was much, much smaller, so I filled it with my spirits as I wanted a barrel aged old fashioned. I have to keep a towel underneath it, otherwise I will get a build of stickiness from the mix leaking out. At most, I'm losing maybe a teaspoon a week through the leak. It's been over a month with the second barrel, still leaking small amounts.The laser engraving on the front is great and the barrels look good, so I gave it an extra star for that. And they replaced the first barrel very easily, so I gave a star for great customer service. But after two leaky barrels, I'll look for another vendor for future barrel purchases.

I bought the Oak Barrel and had my wife and my names put on it along with the date we were married. Which was not that long ago. The names were very good and readable. The date was smaller and hard to read. The barrel appears to be made from good wood. I did not know it was an actual charred barrel that will age your spirits. We will play with that and see how it changes the wife's wine. Over all it is a great product and I am very happy with it, just the date could have been more distinctive.

I ordered this for my boyfriend's birthday (1 L size) - I was very nervous about it. But it came out amazing!! And he ABSOLUTELY LOVED it. And that is an understatement. He kept fiddling with it and looking at it and thanking me for it. It was super cute! I also bought him some bourbons and he filled the barrel with one of those bourbons and decided to age it. I was so happy that he got so much enjoyment out of it!! Will definitely be purchasing more!!

We love the product and get many compliments! Made the Scotch taste great. Ours however, did absorb an what we felt was an excessive amount of product. We called the Vendor to determine what we could do. (They called this Angel Share) :-). I spoke with Derek who was quick to offer a replacement. We are very satisfied with this product and Vendor.
