Love it can't wait to use them at christmas

Awesome to plug in and get your lights blinking to music. The twinkly light set is expensive but awesome. This little hub can plug into anything that has USB power outlet. I plugged it into the side of the power recliner and tried it out plugged into the TV. It's pretty easy to connect, may take a couple tries, the android app is a little lacking. Just make sure wherever the USB connection is...is close to the music/ sound you want it to blink to and you will find the as a good buy.

This is a great way to add synchronization to a large (or not so large) display. There are reliability concerns though, as sometimes the light strings get out of sync. I wish there were more features as well, like the ability to exclude stings of Twinkly so I don't want to be part of the set, or the ability to cycle automatically through effects. I assume more features will come in the future, but for the price this is a really good addition to any scene!

This thing should be included. It is insane, I have played music to my tree all night long. It is incredible how the tree dances to the music.

Everything worked until I added this defective MUSIC to my inventory. The one I got has no mic so it can’t tell if there’s any sound or not. It also needs to be reset every few hours (deleted and re-connected) otherwise it makes everything lose its pattern. Tech support is horrific. I’ve spent THOUSANDS on Twinkly products this month and it requires a few hours of daily maintenance otherwise nothing works properly. (We have over 600gbps wifi - we had to add 3 WAPs to support Twinkly and still nothing but errors) Firmware updates come out and cause HOURS of grueling updating. If you install these products make sure all of your plugs and reset buttons are extremely accessible. I had ours installed and some of them are on my roof. Every 2 days I’m having to go on the roof and hold the button for 5 seconds to reconnect them. It’s miserable. The music feature never worked for us so I can’t comment. All of the music patterns are basic, and you can’t customize them. Nothing is “holiday themed” only bright colors. Nothing changes to the beat, it just changes on a timed pattern (with or without music)

Trying to connect this device to a modern mesh Wi-Fi network is an exercise in futility. It just won't work if the mesh network combines 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz networks into one SSID (network name). This is a problem known in late 2017 by IOT device manufacturers and should not be an issue in late 2021 - but here we are with chipsets and software that still do not work correctly with modern mesh systems. I had to get an 8 year old Netgear router out of the closet, turn off 5 GHz, hook it up downstream from the mesh system and close to where the Twinkly music was going to be deployed. Even then, after multiple factory resets, the Twinkly would just not join the network using the standard method (connecting to the device using bluetooth from your phone, then providing the network credentials via the app over bluetooth). I have a 25 character network password and perhaps the firmware doesn't like it when transferred via bluetooth. I finally had to re-enable the deprecated and insecure WPS on the router and use that alternate to connect. After all that? It works great. It just needs a better, modern, Wi-Fi chipset and firmware. One other thing to be aware of is that the development of the app and firmware is quite out of sync with the documents you find on the web site. For example the web site goes into detail about music "drivers" such as "VU Meter" etc. and how to select them and what they are. These don't seem to exist anymore and a simpler (but less useful) selection of things like "dance", "pop", "Classical", etc. has replaced it. But the documentation does not mention this at all so development and documentation are well out of sync. It would be good to have the dev team be required to update documentation in sync with releases. Once you have it setup, this is a fun device.

Easy to set up, and all the twinkly devices I own get sincronices with the music as expected with Twinkly music

The Twinkly Music sound sensor is excellent in every aspect. The colors look beautiful, and the way the lights react to music creates a really nice and dynamic effect. I especially like how customizable everything is through the app, which makes it easy to adjust the mood exactly how you want. It works great for Christmas decorations, but it’s just as good as ambient or background lighting in a room. It also makes a very nice gift, especially for someone who enjoys smart lighting or decorative setups. Overall, a high-quality product that I would happily buy again
