Very Good Head Magnifier It Gets The Job Done
Very nice head magnifier, a must have for any craftsmen. Quality and durability seem fine while also being light and easy to get used to on the head. Battery life is good the overall functionality meets expectations. The adjustable head strap works great, the lenses are clear with good magnification levels. Now, lets not fool ourselves. This is an inexpensive head magnifier that has to balance strength and durability while maintaining light weight as to make it bearable to wear for extended periods of time. In that regard, this is an excellent head lamp but don't expect it to hold up to a 6ft fall onto concrete that well. Also, the flip down lens and the side monocle need to be handled with a bit of care. The retaining clip for the flip down lens, that increase magnification over the main lens, can break if over bent. Also the monocle is held on with one screw that can have a tendency to back out. They could have used a slightly higher grade plastic for this but it's serviceable to the handy even with it's minor drawbacks. I don't think you'll find better in this price range.

Good device
If possible I’d give this device about 4.5. It serves a need at an expensive price.

A homeowners version of what professionals use
This head banded magnifier is much like inspection head band magnifiers I have used in the electronics industry, just a cheaper build with a much cheaper price. The extra stereo flip magnifier is a great addition to just the single swivel down magnifier of which I have used, and does work very well. The headband swivels to fit the adjustment know behind the magnifiers. If you collapse it too far, it will be tight to expand the head band to where the adjustment knob can do it's job. It's comfortable with no sharp edges, magnifies well, and the swivel light also provides good coverage. Professionals use these because your hands are free and they works so well.

See what you are doing
LED lighting is bright, better than the old incandescent versions. Works as expected. I purchased a couple of these to use for up close work. Had cataract replacement and lost all the up close capability. Yes, I look like a jeweler but it is what it is.

Awful blurry lenses, bad spherical aberration.
If you have never used a pair of these before then let me save you the trouble of wasting your time returning these or getting headaches. The lenses are bad, like really really bad. If you never heard of spherical aberration you will thoroughly become familiar with it's effect when wearing these - bad blurring around the edges. My test is to try and look at my phone which has a very high DPI screen and it's a wavy, blurry, headache inducing experience. Trying different lens to eye distances did not correct this. Switching to a more real world task like looking at circuit boards and wiring connectors is somewhat less terrible but still not comfortable compared to other pairs I've used over the years. My benchmark is a roughly $25 pair from McMaster Carr which are crystal clear and have no focal issues or other visual disturbances. However they are no frills without lighting, padding, monocle, and have a Velcro strap my hair gets caught in instead of an easy locking adjustment knob. Despite the luxury features offered, the lenses render it useless. I returned these and will try a different pair and if those are junk, buy the aforementioned no frills headband magnifier. I need to do work, not juggle plastic import junk.

Expected greater magnification
Maybe it's just my eyesight (not the greatest even with glasses) or unrealistic expectations but the magnification isn't all that dramatic, even with the flip down lens. Having said that, the light works well (batteries not included), the fit adjustment is effective and overall fairly comfortable. In spite of its low price it all seems to be made of thick enough plastic to be durable. In spite of my being underwhelmed by the magnification, it is still better for small work than without it.

the quality of the magnifier is satisfactory but could be much better, it does allow light in dark conditions and is a great piece of kit for a novice repairer, but you’d need a better magnifier for small repairs, the design is great and so is the size, but it could use more magnification
