I've been putting off using Pex instead of solid copper for a long time but I had a project come up that would have me move water lines 48" to an opposite wall to enlarge a shower. The original copper lines would have to go through the drain/p-trap/vent configuration and I had very little room to maneuver copper pipes but the Pex would give me the flexibility to snake through very easy. I received a gift card for Christmas and so I started getting my Pex kit together. First I bought the Pex type"b" pipes to make a dry run to see if it was possible, it worked very easy with no kinks but the fittings are more expensive but what a timesaver. I looked online and I bought the tools and parts I needed at a great price except for the piping itself. First I sweated the 1/2" copper to 1/2" Pex adapters and I was off cutting and crimping. Please pay close attention to the details to ensure a leakproof installation. I finished in less than an hour to pressure test my installation, no leaks Hooray.
