2.5" SSD & HDD Hard Drive Cable SATA Connector Adapter for ASUS VivoBook S14 S430U S15 S530U S530FA, VivoBook X412 X512 F412 Series Laptop

This worked for my VivoBook to add a 2.5" sata drive, but the cable is flaky. The drive only appears in the UEFI (BIOS) half the time. I've tried adjusting and carefully straightening the cable to no avail. I chalk it up to a poor quality ribbon.Update: I discovered that the cable connection to the 2.5" connector here is weak, and with very little force I can cause the cable to slip horizontally (surely crossing wires). This is dangerous for the devices.I purchased another connector marketed for the ASUS ROG G531GT which also has 10 pins on the cable, and it works great with no connection issues in the firmware or operating system. Its cable to 2.5" connector is sealed in the plastic, as you can see in the photo to left. Strangely, this cable I'm reviewing has one more wire in the 2.5" connector than that other one.

This cable is not compatible with ASUS VivoBook X512DA.Please, add a picture with enough zoom to distinguish the conector and how many 'pins' it has (In this case, 12)Thank you.

Works perfect. The model laptop i purchased came with a NVME 2280 SSD as standard for OS boot. They also left the original SATA interface header and space for a standard SSD! Now I have a dual drive inexpensive laptop :-) cable snapped in easily and works great..

Arrived quickly and as pictured. Packaging could be a little better, it was just a thick ziplock bag.

Worked in my ASUS rog strix laptop perfectly. Cable was a little shorter than the ASUS cable but still reaches the input perfectly. Works great :)

The connector between the ribbon cable and the SATA connector is really loose and poorly designed. Has a tendency to fall out during normal use.
