Love xuron
These are sharp and good quality. They are NOT for stainless steel and will immediately ruin them if you try. Lightweight and grip is comfortable. Smaller handle but supposed to be like that

Works great for cutting hardened memory wire.
Performed well as advertised. This tool cuts through hardened wire without dulling or harming the jaws of the wire shear. Very good quality product that is great for cutting memory wire.

Excellent for guitar strings
I misplaced my usual pair of guitar string snippers in a move and when I changed strings on a guitar recently, discovered that I didn't have anything equipped for the job. So I bought these, and they work perfectly. No complaints. One thing of note, if you have locking tuners and like to snip the string end flush with the tuning post, these get close, but will still leave a tiny nub of maybe 1mm sticking out. Having been poked with far too many guitar strings in my time, I don't want to risk anything. My method has always been, and remains, to leave about 1-1.5" of string coming from the post, which I bend so that it's sticking straight up. I then take a pair of needle-nose pliers and bend that string over on itself so that the end of the string is pointing down toward the headstock. This keeps the string ends out of the way, and it keeps the pointy bit of string out of a dangerous position.

Shear very nicely
These shears are great for hard wire such as music wire. The blue handles are very pleasant and comfortable to hold and the shade of blue is very calming. This is important when crafting or working on hobbies. These will not work to shear sheep. Sheep shearing requires a different type of shear altogether. Can you say Sally swiftly shears the sleepy sheep? Go on....you know you want to say it.

Handle Color May Vary...
I've used Xuron wire shears for many years, but after cutting too much 16-guage, stainless steel wire, they finally wore out. All of my pairs of Xurons had blue handles like the picture, but they sent me ones with red handles. It's actually works better for me because I won't confuse them with my old pairs. They still cut like new Xurons, so I'm happy.

Perfect for memory wire
I bought these specifically to cut memory wire. According to Xuron, they are "designed for cutting memory wire and other types of hard wire. Also, a great tool for cutting push rods, throttle cable and carbon fiber rods and nichrome wire."

Xuron is a high quality company
By accident I came across the XURON brand and bought a couple pliers that were very thin for use with finer work or tighter spaces. The quality was superior and is just as good as high end brands for less cost. This company is a Made in America producer. I love them so much I bought this cutter for a friend that is a silversmith as well. Even though it was a gift I tried it (was that bad?). I cut a piece of 12 g SS 1/2 hard wire with ease, and the cut was flush!! Do not hesitate to buy from Xuron...whether you are new to jewelry making or have done it for years, trust me good tools are a must and this company has many different types of pliers.

excellent for heavy cutting in tight spaces
Been using it for cutting chainmail rings (16 gauge stainless steel, 1/4" inner diameter) and it works great. Probably made roughly a thousand cuts so far and they are still good and sharp. Handles aren't super ergonomic for long use, but for most people that probably won't be an issue.

Great for music wire
I purchased this 2193 shear to cut music wire for my instruments. I was previously using ("abusing") a cheap set of flush cutters and they quickly became damaged until they finally stopped cutting. This Xuron shear makes clean, square cuts and doesn't require much force to clip through music wire. So far, the jaws appear unphased after several sets of strings. I believe this is great value for a durable pair of shears that I expect will have a long service life.

An excellent tool for cutting piano wire.
When making very small springs from piano wire I found that normal wire cutters were virtually useless as the wire was so hard. This cutter is absolutely perfect, easy to use and leaves a neatly cut end - naturally it has a maximum working wire gauge.
