Unfortunately there were many rough edges that I had to personally sand down but then when I noticed there was a crack beginning between where the two different wood types met, I packed it up and returned it. Also will only work for the round balls of yarn not the oblong ones...too small but my own fault for not measuring first.

Bought for my niece who enjoys crochet and knitting. I'm told it was a hit. Yay! The item was of good quality and it looked exactly like the picture. One improvement I would suggest.. I had this item sent to my house so I could see it and wrap it myself before gifting it. It came in a brown cardboard box sealed at every seam with special printed sticker tape that had some sort of image on it...maybe an elephant, I can't remember. I wasn't psyched that I had to break the stickers to look inside. Breaking the stickers made it obvious that I had opened it prior to gifting it but I feel should be able to inspect items I buy before gifting them.

So much entertainment in one box. Not just a bowl but also a mostly smoked whole leaf cigarette tied with string. The cut out for the yarn is not well sanded and snags on my yarn. Will have to get a file to fix. Good for those who are handy and enjoy random!

I ordered this as a gift and when it arrived I immediately noticed the cat’s eyes are holes rather than painted black like the nose and mouth (which is what the advertising picture showed). Additionally the parts painted black were hastily done and out of the lines. For these two things, I removed one star. Overall I was pleased with my purchase because the size is perfect for holding large balls of yarn and the tail is excellent for securing the yarn as it unravels. The bowl itself is very sturdy and cute even with the imperfections. I will fix mine with paint and it will still make a good present.

I bought this to give as a gift to a friend who loves knitting. Not only was it a big hit, but she’s told me several times since I gave it to her that it is one of the most beautiful yarn holders she’s ever seen and that she absolutely loves it.If you’re looking for the perfect gift for an avid knitter, look no further, this is it!

It is a beautiful wood, but the edges are not sanded down. The spiral that feeds the yarn is very rough and the yarn is constantly catching on it and fraying. I removed stars because I have to smooth it all out.

A bit annoyed with this purchase. Came with a huge crack down the side of the bowl. The inside of the cat tail isn’t sanded very well so yarn tends to snag in there, essentially defeating the purpose of it. Pretty disappointing for around $25, wish I’d bought something else.

I loved how it looked and it's design but, Im not a knitter. I read reviews that the cut-out decorations weren't sanded down and could pull the yarn . I haven't found out if that happened to her but, I included a sheet of sand paper in with the gift... Just in case!

The bowl is sturdy and it looks great but any yarn thicker than about 6mm just will not fit, which is a real shame because I rarely use thin yarn. Don’t buy if you generally use anything other than wire thin yarn.

Gleich vorneweg, die Schale ist wunderschön und entspricht genau der Beschreibung, JEDOCH ohne den absolut notwendigen Schleifarbeiten ist sie nicht für Wolle verwendbar. Da die „Schnecke“, nach dem sie in die Schale geschnitten wurde, sehr scharfkantig und rau ist, sollte unbedingt mit Schleifpapier und Feile dieses Makel beseitigt werden. Schade, denn bei dieser, im Vergleich zu den anderen Anbietern, eher hochpreisigen Schale, sollte man das eigentlich erwarten können. Ich kann diese Produkt deshalb NICHT weiterempfehlen.

This yarn holder is so cute BUT the spiral that holds the wool is unfinished and so it frays the wool as you are working. I can’t believe any knitter/crocheter would use this item. Good thing about it was it was very easy to return. No I would not recommend this and a definite no I would not buy it again.
