Very good camera and floodlight
I wanted a light on the side of the house and have Arlo cameras anyway and so I tried this and I think it is very good, and the light is excellent even just on battery.I have solar panels on both, ( I bought a second one because I was impressed), and at the moment they stay at 100% with the fairly sunny days, however winter they will need recharging if in a busy area, but I have purchased an outdoor magnetic charging cable that will make this easy, otherwise you have to separate the camera from the housing to charge and this would be a pain. One slight problem is an intermittent noise that comes over the feed when live and on recordings which is annoying. It doesn’t happen every time so hopefully firmware updates sort it out.I can live with it just, but some may find it too much annoyance , so hope to be fixed in future.I do recommend these cameras when paired with solar panels and am glad I bought them.

Great floodlight and camera combo
Working this review after 21 months of use. The quality and sensor is pretty good. Battery life was our main concern, which hadn’t been a problem ; charging every 6-8 months. Obviously charge rate depends upon how much it’s armed and triggered. Battery longevity also varies ever so slightly by outdoor temperatures. On the very odd and rare occasions (approximately 2/3), the camera has been covered by dew.The camera quality and range is really clear. You can also use the intercom to speak if needed. What’s great is that you can set your own trigger zones (handy for neighbouring fence lines). I only have one critiqué, the time lag on a person being captured in a zone to the alert on your phone could/should be far quicker. The delay is significant enough that if you were wanting to interrupt an intruder you may be a little late. However, the delay hasn’t put me off the device and quality as this can be improved in software updates. Subsequent, I have gone onto purchase a second device.Other reason for picking this brand over others was to do with secure service (so far!!), one other brand available to purchase via this platform has had breaches.Hope this review helps you make your own personal home security decision.

Good until it wasn’t
I’ve had this camera for about 2 years and everything was great except I never knew why I couldn’t talk through the camera. I ended up just forgetting about it. Well recently we got back from our vacation and when we shut the door the camera slipped out of its hold and fell on the ground. The blue light still blinks but I can’t get it to connect anymore. Pretty much writing it off as a loss at this point. 💔

Works well
I wasn’t sure about getting this product particularly because it isn’t mains connected, but I have had it for 5 months and only needed to charge it twice.

Great bit of kit
After my initial delivery not pairing correctly I had a replacement sent which works perfectlyI bought this as an addition to a verisure alarm system that uses Arlo doorbell and cameras and has some issues adding this to my account, verisure were extremely unhelpful so went to Arlo direct who couldn’t do more for me and got me all set up and working, would recommend

Arlo price gauge you after purchase
In itself this is decent camera but the ownership experience is tarnished by price gauging by Arlo/Netgear.Not just the monthly subscription which is pretty much essential but the ridiculous £40 cost of their outdoor charging cable with proprietary magnetic charging connector. They slyly stop the camera functioning if you plus in a normal micro-USB to charge the battery. On the plus side the camera and light have plenty of adjustments for sensitivity, lens angle, illumination time etc. I was able to 'tune' the settings to get a good picture but avoid triggering by foxes etc.The other good feature is WiFi sensitivity even though just the 2.4GHz band is supported. Arlo must have used the extra size to include a better antenna, the signal strength is much better than an Arlo Essential camera in the same location.Regarding mounting, you must place this where it can't be reached, as one button push will detach the entire camera unit from its case! Arlo really should have made this key-operated.With coupon, I picked this up for £133 which goes someway to paying the subscription. To be fair, up to five camera are covered by the subscription which adds features such as one camera can trigger others to record, send 'push' notifications etc. Also, unlike Ring, Arlo doesn't integrate with a home alarm system. To remain competitive they'll need to get an alarm to the market PDQ.
