I enjoy in-depth discussions of Bob Dylan's career and music, but, for me, this book goes a little too far for comfort. In short, the author analyzed the subject out of all contention, until I finally gave up on it. Maybe this says more about me than it does the author, but some of his conclusions sounded so convoluted and over-thought that it actually got in the way of the music, rather than made it more accessible. I think Dylan himself, who must wonder how some people can read all they do into his songs, would not find the book an easy read. However, all you brainy fans out there, by all means try it for yourself and see how you get on.
