Great voice style and sound for most music lovers
Great voice P.j Harvey has a voice similar to Patti Smith when she sings more folk but she also has a kinda soulful folk sound she's a very under rated rocker now I feel not to say she doesn't have a fan base. P.j Harvey puts a unique mystical edge in all her work but you hear it best in songs like Teclo ,and The Dancer .C'mon Billy is a fun song even and Down by the river But you can't forget the folk song send his. Love to me on here too I love how each song tells a very similar story but in different styles this album was cleverly named bring his love to me cus each song deals with with that with well arranged music arrangements. You hear a folk ,grunge more post punk rock n roll and ballad all in one with this album.

Extremely dark and raw but impressive
For people who are new to PJ Harvey, she is an incredibly hard artist to classify. On "To Bring You My Love", she brings an album that like I said in the title of my review is incredibly dark and at times you can feel torture/yearning in her voice. PJ Harvey is known for experimentation and she brings it here but also at the same time presents straightforward ballads or just rocking songs (with her unique brand of eclectic instrumentation or sound). This album was hard for me to fully appreciate at first; when I first gave it a listen, I thought that it should've been whittled down to an EP or something. After 3 listens, I finally began to understand how the songs complimented each other as a whole and picked up/enjoyed things I had missed before. My favorites would have to be: "C'mon Billy", "Long Snake Moan", "Down By the Water", "Send His Love to Me", and "Teclo".The most experimental songs that might be hard to appreciate for most mainstream listeners would probably be "Working For the Man" and "I Think I'm a Mother" due to the fact that in the first song I mentioned, she practically whispers and sings at the same time except for the chorus. The second song I mentioned has a very lo-fi quality to it and again, her vocals aren't as audible. The reason I gave this album 4 stars is that even though there are some incredible songs on here, a couple of them just don't fully come together; they're decent but had a lot more potential. For the most part though, this is one of the most emotional and soul wrenching albums I've heard in a while with great, raw musicianship. For people who are familiar with PJ Harvey, you know probably know this is a really good album already and if you don't own this, you should pick it up.For people new to PJ Harvey, I would say listen to some of the song samples off the album to see if you enjoy the music. If I had to describe Polly Jean Harvey, I'd say she's a hybrid of Bjork and Beck with a much darker edge and a much more raw approach.

End-to-end, flawless
I can pick any track on this album randomly and be amazed by PJ Harvey (and her stellar band). To Bring You My Love is washed in darkness, moodiness, heavy guitar riffs at some places, and softer tracks devoid of percussion in others. She can rock you and she can soothe you, in her unique way, with her lyrics and vocals. She is the real deal in a 21st century where music has become fractured into bits and pieces, singles and obnoxiously exposed celebrity-personas with more media outlets than they can ever handle, and less integrity than they could ever imagine was possible. But PJ. She keeps me happy because I know she means what she sings, and her band grooves harmoniously along with her in its assent.

The one that started it for me.
This was the first PJ Harvey album I bought - I saw her that summer on tour with Live and Veruca Salt and a friend of mine had issues with the lack of great drumming (and the occasional use of a drum machine). In a recent interview, she said that there were 3 albums she was satisfied with at the time she made them - this one, Is This Desire? and White Chalk. Before this album, I'd never heard the guitars sound the way they do and some of the music was featured in movies as well (some movie with Leonardo DiCaprio where he plays... I forget). Long story short, if you like her, you probably already have it in your collection. If you don't have it in your collection (and you're a fan), you should =D

new PJ Harvey fan--I LOVE this album
I bought this somewhat on a whim, having only seen the video for "Down By The Water," along with PJ's other album Rid Of Me. Honestly, I expected to like the other better, but I have absolutely fallen in love with this record. It's so dark and haunting and beautiful--and not really what I was expecting based on just one song. But I suppose that's fitting of all of PJ's work.If you're at all interested in PJ Harvey, or alternative music or female musicians, you must own this album!
