/ Electricity Kit

I bought this kit for my 4th grade son to supplement his learning about electricity in school. I was worried the parts would be flimsy after reading other reviews but they were not. They were more than adequate for the purposes of the kit and superior to what we received from his online virtual school for their unit on electricity. The text in the booklet is spare but an advantage to this is that my son worked through the kit all on his own (which hadn't been my original intention but he couldn't wait for me to go on to the next experiment). His work with this kit really firmed up his understanding of electricity and key vocabulary terms. He is now using parts from the kit to work on other experiments he's found in books from the library, again all on his own initiative. Worth every penny.

These kits are very good. My son enjoys the projects. Educational and fun, great opportunity to bond on a rainy day.

I ordered two kits for my classroom of students. I love the book that explains how to build circuits. It allows the children to do it independently by following the directions. They really enjoyed the book and the activities. My only complaint is that the first time, one of the bulbs was used, it burned out. I am trying to figure out how to return or get a replacement bulb. Other than that, it is a great kit for first, second, and third graders!

Pros: This kit is perfect for my 6 year old grandson who immediately became interested in the book and how everything worked. The delivery was very quick. A great starter kit and easy to understand.Cons: The product was not very well packed and moved around in delivery. I discovered a broken light bulb and the electric motor did not work properly when I tested it. I emailed the company I purchased it from to have a replacement sent out and they responded by saying there was nothing they could do and instead gave me the number of the manufacturer. I find this very unsatisfactory and a poor customer service response. I can not use the kit until I find replacements and 6 year olds do not understand this.

My 5 yr old son liked it. I agree with the critical reviewers that it is a bit skimpy although all things worked for us.You hook up a regular household battery to a load - a light, buzzer, LED, and a simple electrical motor that rotates things. First you observe how the electricity runs these devices. Then you add a primitive switch to be able to turn the electricity on & off. Then you try to close the circuit with various materials to see what conducts electricity. (Kids liked to do this.)I felt that the kit got its point across to my son, he enjoyed it and felt a sense of accomplishment. So I am happy with the product.

This was a great product for science and technology portion of STEM. This kit really let my daughter understand the concepts being taught for school and she was able to actually apply them outside of the set in real life and she is only six. I highly recommend the kit, you will need a battery. We used a 9 volt as the smaller ones didn’t work.

MY SON IS 10 YEARS OLD. HE IS A MAJOR SCIENCE AND CHEMISTRY FANATIC SO THESE ARE THE ONLY GIFTS HE GETS FOR HIS BIRTHDAY AND CHRISTMAS. HE STARTED WORKING WITH IT IMMEDIATELY. IT WAS VERY EASY FOR HIS AGE GROUP. HE DIDN'T NEED MY ASSISTANCE. EVERYTHING WAS THERE, ARRIVED ON TIME. DAYS OF FUN, A BREAK FOR MOM

I usually bought toys to my 6 years old daughter and gave it to her when she could piano well. This product I waited about 6 weeks to give her. Turned out there is an item inside is defective. The LED light bulb doesn't work. A month after buying it(when the return window closed at Amazon), I have to ship it back at my own cost if I want to replace it. So don't wait too long to open yours. In general, I think this product is okay. My daughter played for it twice in about a month time. After that, she doesn't seem interested anymore. The book is very simple and short. If your child is a second grade reader, he/she could be able to read it.
