McGraw-Hill's 5 TEAS Practice Tests

I don't mean to toot my own horn here, but I did three practice tests about a week out. I ended up scoring in the 90s in all but one of the TEAS categories (and I blame myself, because I didn't take the test in that area).I think this book is a great representation of what to expect when taking the TEAS. It helped me to see the formatting of some questions and get comfortable with the variety of information that the TEAS may expect from you.I used this book more than the TEAS review manual, because I like how it was formatted in test format. I am not trying to prevent someone from getting the other book because that book contains more in depth material. It gives you study material within in the book to review and isn't all tests. I felt confident in my areas prior to taking the test so this was what helped me the most.

This book has 5 Practice Tests that are very similar to the types of questions asked on the actual TEAS V test.All that I did to study was go through the book in the course of a week, and I passed the test with an "adjusted individual score" of 84.0%. Most schools only want you to get above 50% or will give you preference if you score above 70% or so. But I was happy with that score and felt well prepared because of this book. I used the kindle version and the kindle app on my laptop to save money...can't beat $10 for this ebook!I would recommend this book to those taking the TEAS V test because it prepares you well for the actual test. The one striking difference between the test and the practice tests was the reading section. The actual test has more focus on the long passages with 5-7 questions following the one passage. The book's tests only had ≈2 of these per test, while the actual test had 4-5.

This book was extremely helpful in my preparation for the TEAS test. I would recommend following the Test Training schedule in Section II at the front of the book and reading through all of section I and II before you start taking the tests.The explanations to the answers are sometimes very simple and further reasearch is required. For the math section, I used the Khan Academy (free online tutoring) to revise concepts I'd long forgotten.The science sections on the actual test is more challenging, however, the format of the questions in the practice tests will prepare you to answer the more challenging questions on the actual test. Definitely know your A&P!The reading passages on the actual tests were longer with more scientific and nursing themes than the passages in the book.Overall, this book significantly prepared me for the format of the exam and definitely helped me to get the grade I needed!

I used this book to help prepare me for the TEAS exam and I have to say that it did help me prepare for it pretty good for the most part. The science aspect of the TEAS exam is somewhat of a gamble although the nice part about this book is that it not only has practice tests, it also gives you a general consensus of the topics that will be on the exam for each section of the test. For me, some of the math problems on the test were unfamiliar or just not really covered in this book but then again I got a good score that got me into the program I was applying for in the first place! I would recommend this book to help study for the TEAS exam. Not sure if getting the official book would be any better or not, as I haven't seen the official book.

This book truly helped me pass the TEAS V exam. I had already taken the exam twice, without the help of this book, and was having trouble studying the right material. The book provides you with five different TEAS practice tests that are similar to the TEAS V exam. In my opinion, the math and grammar sections helped me the most. I improved in all four areas (reading, math, science, and grammar). However, I found that using this book and the TEAS Review Manual, Version 5.0 (also on amazon) together helped me the most.

I scored a 91.5% on the TEAS. The questions in this book are very similar to the actual test. This book is also very easy to understand and navigate through.I recommend buying this book along with the ATI - TEAS V preparation book. With those two books, you should have a great concept of what's going to be on the exam. The ATI book, however, is setup (organized) very poorly. It is very cumbersome, and difficult to navigate through. BUT, you need that one too.....lolBottom line: You need this book (Mcgraw-Hill) and the ATI practice test book.GOOD LUCK !!!

I bought the official TEASV book from the ATI website and studied from that. The first time I took the test I got a 73. After studying a little more I wanted some practice tests. I bought this book (which is a great price) and did all the tests. The second time around I got an 83 which is placed as advanced on the test. This book will really prepare you for what you're going to have to face. Of course you actually have to know the content but my problem isn't the content but how I am taking the test. Overall it's definitely worth the money to practice these.

Unlike some other, more expensive offerings, this book really delivers. Four stars only because you can't print any part of it, not even the practice test sheets, which would make it much easier to use. Still, so beautifully and clearly written that it's still worth your time and $. VERY HELPFUL in every other way; it's hard to fault the author for a marketing decision by nameless people with no souls hiding behind their desks and profit/loss statements.
