I will never buy batteries for my Brothers Embosser again
We have had our Brothers Embosser Labeler for over 5 years. No power supply was included. The labeler run well on four AA batteries, but we use it so infrequently we have to change the batteries almost every time we use it. The Brothers Power Supply was more expensive than it should have been, probably because it has the Brothers name branded on it. Cost aside, It works like it is suppose to and we will never have to replace the batteries again.

Fantastic
This one works great. It has the Brother logo on it and it was made specifically for my version of the P-Touch. No complaints at all. I'd bought another adapter- made by FouceClaus- on Amazon that claimed to be compatible with my version of P-Touch but it wasn't. As soon as I attached it I got a message on the screen that said "Wrong Adapter". After several tries I double-checked the information that came with the FouceClaus adapter and it stated it was compatible with my version of P-Touch. Not so! This FouceClaus adapter is of no use to me but it's too much of a hassle to return. So this is a $10 lesson to remind me to be more selective in future.

Worth every dime
I am a labeling fanatic and thus go through A LOT of tape and A LOT of batteries. Even using rechargeable batteries in my two P-Touch printers was costing me a fortune, so I purchased this AC adapter. While using the AC adapter does mean my P-Touch is less portable, it also means it is saving a major headache-- running out of batteries mid-labeling-- and a fair amount of money in batteries. The cord on this AC adapter is nice and long-- about 5 or 6 feet, so it is more than feasible to plug it in and work at a desk. The connection on the adapter is nice and tight, and the plug is, as well. I have run into ZERO problems with the adapter falling out of the device or the wall while I am happily labeling. :)I have now used this adapter in two of my three P-Touch label makers (1280 and 1280SR), and it works beautifully. It does NOT fit my super-old P-touch labeler (1800?). ***I would advise double-checking your model against the list of compatible models here on Amazon and/or on Brother's website.***

It makes my printer work.
Bought this for a Brother portable label printer. I don't need the printer to be portable and I don't need to keep feeding it new cells. So I avoided all that by buying this. I like it. Actual printing time for the label maker is short and infrequent. This probably accounts for the adapter not even getting warm.

It works
I ended up opting to use a cheaper 3rd-party alternative, but this charger definitely does work. It feels high-quality and the wire is long without being unmanageable.I don't think it's worth the inflated price though, and I find it frustrating that Brother chooses to use a non-standard adapter - I have never used a single other product that charges with 9V in my life, though I do own a few 12V ones which seem to be significantly more common. Would be nice if Brother could design their label makers to work with both (or they could at least sell the adapter for less).

Manufacturer
I returned a cheap Power Adapter that exhibited a large spark when I plugged the adapter into a receptacle.I then purchased a Brother Power Adapter & powered the unit up without experiencing any spark problem.I would like to point out that the Amazon.com listing of the Brother Power Adapter lists the voltage as 240V. The voltage on the Adapter is 100V-240V & that's what should be listed not 240V.

Battery works good
I bought the adaptor because I forgot to buy it when I ordered the label machine. It's great because I don't have to waist money on batteries. Make sure when you buy your label machine you make sure it comes with an adaptor or buy it separately. It's a new adaptor so there are no complaints.
