I purchased this crimper because it is one of the highest-rated crimpers with most reviews, and I was not disappointed. It's long handles give me extra leverage so that it is very easy to squeeze, compared to other crimpers with short handles. It is made of thick steel and feels like it will last a lifetime!

Those familiar with this type of tool would probably not have had the difficulty I had. Pros- It properly crimps and appears to be very well made Cons- Misleading images and video: They imply a 2-handed use, similar to a pair of pliers. Actually, it requires full body strength where the lower arm must be leveraged against a solid surface or placed in a bench vice. Very limited instructions: -The number range of the crimp slots matches the number range of the adjustment bolts (both are 1-4) easily leading one to assume both should be set to the same value. However, they appear to not be directly related i.e. for my 3/32 ferrule in position 3, I needed the adjustment set to 2. -This is a specialized tool and for first-time, DIY users it would help to provide some general info on proper crimping procedures It's a good tool with no caveats for pros familiar with it's use. For rookies, beyond my comments, I suggest watching some of the excellent YT videos on ferrule/SWAGE crimping.

I was building a cable railing for my deck (took about 1200' of cable), first I purchased an Amazon Choice, 10 ton hydraulic crimper. Sounds pretty impressive, but it wasn't. It stopped building enough pressure after about 6 crimps. It was pretty awkward for one person to operate, so I returned it to Amazon and bought this crimper. That was a good move on my part, I wish I purchased this first, but how can you go wrong with a "10 ton crimper". This manual crimper was much easier to use and allowed me to go through the crimping process in half the time. Not sure about the numbering system for the crimper, it said use the #4 crimp position for 1/8" cable, which was too big, so I used the #2 position and it totally kicked butt. I made about 100 crimps and the only thing I had to do was adjust the tension on the last few crimps to make sure the crimps were secure. It's fairly easy to operate and does a great job. I highly recommend..

Works great and good price

Got this to build some trap lines and the trapping supply stores sold a much more expensive crimper than I wanted to pay. A little over $18 more than this one . I needed this for 3/32" double aluminum crimps and it performed as needed and expected. I can't possibly think more expensive crimpers would do better or last longer. The only thing I would note is that if you plan on doing several hundred crimps vs. several dozen then I would go with the desk type bench crimper. Desk type is alot more expensive, but only requires 1 hand for the crimp thus speeds production significantly. For small quantities and occasional use the 2 hand crimper is perfect.

It is well made, good for the price only down side is you can only crimp aluminum , and not copper or stainless steel or that's what they say any ways, but overall it is a well made , work right out of the box no adjusting ,
