Would they work in a "hocus pocus" spell book or are they too small?

I plan on using mine for medium to large puppets. They are 3/4 inch wide and have hollow flat backs. I don't know about your hocus pocus books but I would think they would work. I've never seen an real eyeball out of it's socket but they are about the size of a real eye from the frontal view. Hope this helps, LOL.

Do these eyes fit inside paper mache masks?

I used them in a Halloween mask and they looked very realistic Was very happy with them So I would say yes to your question

Yes. They are plastic and the backside is hollow.

The product description is wrong. The eyes are cupped, not flat at the back. The eyes are also not half round, they are more half oval shaped. I could not use them.
