A very competent espresso
This is my second bag of coffee masters super crema, the first I ordered back in Sep 2018 and now in Dec. When they arrived first time around the beans looked like the bag had been used in a rugby match, they were crushed beans, little bits all over the place and really oily. I can only assume they were 'bottom of the barrel' for that batch. I returned back to lavazza Super crema after finishing the kilo but found myself missing the stronger and more fuller bodied taste of the coffee master's blend. So as soon as that bag was done with I replaced my order. The coffee beans themselves are really dark, this is a dark roast and appear slightly oily. If the roast and batch date are to be beleived, then they are approx 5 weeks old, very good, typically other brands can be circa 3 to 5 months. It's important to note that these are a combination of arabica and robusta beans, the robusta is what gives this blend its characteristic crema, but it also gives it a more bitter taste and a higher caffeine content. A lot of reviews I have read have complained about the bitterness, but again remember this is a robusta blend and that's to be expected.More accomplished drinkers will be more tolerant to the bitterness and prefer the higher caffeine content to the 100% arabica varaties. The dark bean and crema also gives a perfect canvas for latter art, creating some nice contrasts with the milk. You'll notice when you try to knock the coffee puk out the basket it will typically split leaving parts behind in the basket (Gaggia classic) and this again I believe is evident to the different combination of beans.Don't be fooled by buzz words such as 'citrus', 'chocolate' tones etc, show me a generic espresso blend which isn't. Overall the price is reflective of the quality and its a very competent bean.

My personal favourite
I've tried various beans in my delonghi bean to cup machine, these are my personal favourite. Nice aroma, nice crema great taste. They're on the strong side but that's what I like, they're not the cheapest neither are they the dearest but they're quality and they don't faff about with trendy packaging just plain simple foil lined paper bags. They put the roast date on the bag so you know how long ago they were prepared. I keep returning to these time and time again.

Flavour a bit lacking for me, and the beans I got were not that fresh
Clearly, taste is a very personal thing, and for me this was a bit lacking in flavour, like an "unoffensive" all day coffee. Maybe I have just got used to stronger and stronger coffee ! The crema was ok but not overwhelming, possibly because the beans I received were roasted 6 weeks before I received them. 1 to 2 weeks is the ideal. While this blend is quite likely to suit others, it is not for me personally.EDIT: Following my Amazon review, Coffee Masters got in touch and apologised that the beans were not as fresh as they strive for. It sounds as though this may have been a one-off, and they confirmed that it was down to Amazon stock rotation as CM send supplies on a weekly basis. It is very good that they put the roasting date on the pack to be fair. They also offered to send samples of 2 other blends for me to try, so hopefully I will like one of them as I am highly impressed by their customer service.Unfortunately, CM themselves only sell in 6 x 1kg bags which is far more than I could get through in a reasonable time, so buying direct would not resolve the issue of freshness, and that will have to remain in the hands of Amazon and I will have to see how that goes with the next couple of orders.Equipment:Iberital MC2 Burr GrinderDeLonghi EC685 Espresso Machine with bottomless filter

Does exactly what it says on the label.
I'll admit it: I am more than a little bit obsessed with coffee. After getting a decent grinder (a Rancilio Rocky) and matching espresso machine (the legendary Rancilio Silvia) a few years ago I've enthusiastically set about finding out which coffee consistently delivers the best results from them. Well, my research is over and this, folks, is it. The crema that this blend delivers is luxurious and creamy - when they say super crema, they really mean it - and it tastes wonderful. I'm going to be ordering this again.

Certainly a super crema!
Certainly delivers a frothy crema. I can normally easily fit a double espresso into the cups that I use, but these beans produced so much crema that I had to stop the flow or they'd have overfilled.Probably the least favourite of the three Coffee Masters blends I've tried (also Exclusive Master Blend and Full Bodied Espresso - the one I'd recommend). Espresso taste was quite sharp and slightly bitter. Long drinks (americano or latte usually) we're OK, but not great.

A Bit Bland
Scoring coffee is one of the most subjective endeavours on Amazon, so I can't argue with anyone who gives this a different score.I drink espresso, so am looking for a coffee that stands well on its own. For my taste buds this didn't stand out at all. It was fine, produced a reasonable crema and was of good strength, but there was nothing n the taste that was anything other than a bit plain.Aroma ***Strength ***Crema ***Shot Flow *****Flavour ***Overall ***Good value beans, which produce a reasonable cup of coffee.

Very strong but not bitter
Love this coffee. Im a real coffee fan so I have high standards. Im used to superior quality Asian coffees, having been fortunate enough to visit those countries frequently. Unfortunately due to the current restrictions, I can no longer obtain those coffees, so finding a substitute has been quite difficult. This mixture of arabica and robusta is perfect for me and not at all bitter. Will be buying this product for some time to come. Real dark roast with intense flavours
