Q: Can it hold phone in back pocket?

The jacket has four back pockets, one of which is zippered. A phone cannot fit into the zippered back pocket. However, a phone can easily fit into the middle back pocket. A phone can fit snugly in the two outer pockets. By the way, I wear medium shirts from LL Bean and large

Q: the size chart is microscopic. How can you read it?

All I can say is that an “XL” might be great for a Chinese guy but not for a Texan. Fits like an XS. Super tight. Super hot. Won’t last a season. Skip it.
