Set screw is affixed to the bottom of the grip for a cleaner look and solid mounting to the bolt carrier. ***// INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS //***- 1. Apply red Loctite to BOTH the set screw and the threads in the grip. 2. Loosen the set screw in the grip to allow clearance for the handle installation. 3. With the bolt carrier installed in the receiver, slide the grip over the OEM handle. On some bolt carriers the screw will face down and slightly forward (towards the end of the barrel). When installing the grip keep the set screw loose and slowly tighten it a little at a time until the handle sits in a position were it is at a 90 degree angle from the receiver. As you tighten the set screw the grip should start to lock into one position, once it's tight enough to stay in one place fully tighten the set screw as hard as you can to lock it in place.
