Hooker 8501 Exhaust Manifold

These fit great and really decreased the noise under the hood. The extra material and rigidity of the flange allows the gasket to work as it should. I replaced a set of long headers that just sat too low under the car and were causing heat problems with the starter and several fluid lines and required several mods to clear other components. These fit and work great. The application is a second gen Camaro with an LS1 in it. The outlet flanges are stainless steel so I did need to make some steel version to weld to my exhaust since I didn't have the capability to weld steel to stainless. The doughnut gaskets are also a little hard to find as I could only find them online, but they seal great.

These fit perfectly on LS swaps for 73-87 c10’sAlthough the black weren’t supposed to rust and have started to show some spots.

perfect fit on my Ls1 5.3 L engine in my 1957 chevy, I have a rack n pinion , and have a ton of clearance for the steering shaft, I did have to modify the oem auto shifting linkage divider, however, made exhaust a bit louder too

The Hooker exhaust manifolds are a great product for the right application, but not mine. I am putting in a LS engine in a 1985 S10 pickup and have exhaust clearance issue. The left manifold fit great, all kinds of clearance and no steering shaft problems, but the right side was pointing directly at the frame and no way would it fit. I wish I could of used them because of their robust construction but I couldn't. They are better off for Camaro, Chevelles Firebirds and other street rod applications but not mine. They will certainly outlast headers.
