I have to say . . . I liked it. Reading a lot of novels and they have tendency to be romance. I fine that many storyline followl the same format, fine the girl or guy, build the relationship, than make love till you eye pop out or until you can't walk. This constituted a romantic storyline. Yeah, this novel doesn't fall far from that tree. However, I fine the drama and the heart warming out come of the storytelling by the author Maya Banks worthy of a read. But, I also felt that I read a novel before book one series which unravelled what when on in Ray and Ellie relationship and marriage. Which Jack was also a part of the storyline. But, a bystander as a friend to Ray but a hidden love for Ellie which he could not act apond due their friendship. If I am wrong sorry for bring it up.

Very quick read
The book was certainly easy and quick to read, which is a little hard to say considering the main plot line, spousal abuse. I think the author didn't spend enough time on the reality of this for Ellie and the fact that she probably really needed counseling. Not sure if I'll read the next one.

I really enjoyed reading this book and would like to read more books by this author. I would recommend this book to everyone who wants to have a little romance in their lives.

Don't waste your money!
No character development, no story line. Because there is no character development, the steamy scenes are lacking. No build up to the love story. After reading for 1.5 hours I looked down to see I was at 50% completion on my kindle. Very disappointing!

Not that great
I’ve left her stories from the very first one I’ve read but this one just did not hit the mark.

Why I Gave it a 3.5
Bought from Amazon*adult only title*How was the Sexy: The heat between Jake and Ellie was smoldering yet tender and sweet. Due to the nature of the backstory the "bedroom" scenes were almost like a discovery time for Ellie and Maya did an excellent job of making them hot/steamy/exciting.How was the Story: The story was excellent though a little heartbreaking. The blend of the hotness and the story was done in a really good way that you got the right amount of both.Complaints: There was a section that had to do with the ex that wasn't very believable to me: The Apology. I don't think it distracted from the Jake/Ellie story very much though. Why I Gave it a 3.5: This was a really steamy quick read with a good story to boot!Who would I recommend it too: Erotic Romance ReadersAuthor Website: [...]Other books in this series:UnderstoodOverheardUndenied

This book moved rather quickly which I don't mind, but at times it seemed that certain things could've been delved into.. I truly appreciate the writing although it's a different tune that I'm used to. All in all a good read

Just Okay!
I was a little disappointed after reading this book. I'd just finished reading another Maya Banks book (Rush) and figured since it was really really good, this one has to be good too. This book fell short. I didn't like the wording used ("Jesus, Mary & Joseph women"). I mean, who says that? The plot was OK, the story OK. Like I said, this book was just OK.

You won't want to put it down
I love Maya Banks novels. I love it when I read a book and after I finish it, I want to re-read it right away. This book is one of them.

One Star
A little too pornographic for my taste.
