You might have to be handy to install.
Works well enough and its apparent fragility will help focus my attention, which is the name of the game in preserving a full set of fingers. If the guard survives, perhaps my distal appendages will stay with me. Anyway. Wish me luck! All the descriptions mention the plastic part, but the splitter is good thick steel. Just thin enough for the wider narrow kerf saw blades. And, if it proves necessary to drill a hole or two to make it work, that is not going to be a problem for the splitter.Edit, a few days later. I'd recently contrived a sled for my table saw. Thanks to the top reviewer of this blade guard, I was inspired to modify the sled to work with the guard. I also learned that one needs to make sure that the saw blade cannot be too high when the guard drops from the material being cut when doing cross cuts. An elivated saw blade may cut into the guard. A good idea to scout what can happen after making a cut.I did cut off the hose connection as both in the way and contributing little to dust collection. The guard by itself probably does help the saw's dust collection, however.I am liking this thing more and more.

Easy to install and works well
I’ve had several blade guard/dust hoods in the past including the Biesemeyer over arm as well as a couple of shop made designs. Each one had its shortcomings such as being a pain to remove to do procedures that could not be done with it on or adjusting when needing to bevel or to use my sled etc so I decided to try a splitter mounted design. This one came up in my search on Amazon at 1/3 the price of the similar SawStop I originally intended to buy so I was a bit skeptical however with Amazons liberal return policy I figured I’d give it a try.Initial impression was it is pretty well built from plastic at least as thick as the original guard and seemed very sturdy. I already have a quick release splitter on my Unisaw so I did not use the included riving knife. Installation in my case was as simple as drilling a hole in the splitter and countersinking the hole for a 1/4” pivot bolt on the opposite side to make it flush as I have a right tilt Unisaw and rip as thin as 1” regularly (this comes apparently intended for left tilt saws as it has a carriage bolt with shoulders machined in the left side of the plastic only so you cannot reverse it).Once adjusting the self locking nut snugly with just enough play to allow it to pivot easily I gave it a try. The angle at the front allows it to easily pivot up with any thickness wood I tried as well as with my sled unlike others that seemed to hang up in certain situations. A typical 1 1/4” shop vac hose without the end fit perfectly on the dust port and dust collection was pretty good (none I’ve tried collected all the dust but this one was more than acceptable).Overall I am very satisfied with this purchase especially at the price and the only complaint I could have is that due to the way the 2 halves are assembled together you get a distorted view of the blade cut line but I don’t think it will be an issue.

Good inexpensive replacement
This was a great replacement for my 8 inch craftsman table saw. It needed a little bit of cutting to fit it in but it works great and the dust port on the top is nice to catch some of the dust but most goes out the bottom.

Good For The Money
Took about two weeks longer to get than the delivery date Amazon gave. Not bad considering the supply chain problems now. Had to grind a slit to fit my saw plate but fit great otherwise. Solid construction. Works well.

Product received is not what the picture shows.
This is purely a generic. It would not fit my tablesaw, which is just a rigid portable jobsite one. Which has the basic knife in it already. The picture shows the slot is completely opened all the way down. Mine was not. Had to cut that out. Also had to cut off about half inch all the way up the backside or it would not lower to the lowest blade level. Also had to cut the hump out the back. What I received looked totally different than this picture as far as the knife.

Great tool to make working on a table saw safer!
Bought this for an old cabinet saw that I bought on Facebook that didn’t come with a splitter or roving knife capability. It works great. Bolts onto the existing splitter bolt, and though it’s not a true diving knife, it keeps things much safer as I run wood through the table saw.

Misleading and false claims
Seller advertised a universal product which either needs to be modified or in my case doesn’t fit at all. Then I found out that when I’m returning it, I have to pay the rtn shipping. Our shipping is not subsidized and cost me almost as much as I paid which means the refund isn’t worth the work to return it. Find a reputable seller that your sure has a product that will fit your saw. Sad to see this vendor on Amazon. Not happy I lost $26.
