Very good for small hands
Like 1 or 2 other people here, I too tried to the finger groove grips from Hogue first, only to find out my fingers feel stretched in the grooves. But these feel PERFECT. My tiny thumbs can easily and safely prime or lower the hammer, and my fingers can hold onto it easily.I recommend this to any GP100 owner with small hands. The installation wasn't to bad, pressing out the stock grip stud was the hardest part, I used a small ball-joint separator to press it out. After that, everything else just fit together. It feels nice and tight around the frame, with no play anywhere, yet can still easily come off with just a screw.

nice grips
I've been looking for a set of grips for my GP-100 and couldn't find any I like until I found these. I'm very happy with them.

Great grip for the GP100!
I recently picked up a nice used Ruger GP100, but the Hogue "finger groove" grip that came standard with this particular model of the GP100 just wasn't working for me. I have small to medium-sized hands, and the finger groove grip just felt too large overall. The grooves forced my hand into an awkwardly low position, the hump on the back of the grip pressed uncomfortably into my palm, and the overall feeling I got when I was holding the gun was that it was somehow unbalanced. I did, however, like the texture and overall feel of the rubber on that grip, so after much deliberation and reading numerous reviews, I decided to order the Hogue 80010 grip with no finger grooves. The new grip installed very easily since I already had a Hogue grip on the gun. I merely had to remove the bottom retaining screw, slide the old grip off, slide the new grip on, and replace the screw. It took me about 2 minutes total from start to finish to complete the install. Once I picked up and held the gun with the new 80010 grip, I knew I had made the right decision. The grip is made of the same comfortably firm rubber material, and is similar in texture to the finger groove grip. As far as the size goes, it is the same height, but it does not seem as wide from front to back, and it is indeed thinner overall in circumference. I can now position my fingers to my liking, which makes a huge difference in overall comfort. Also, there is no weird hump pressing into my palm, and I can grasp the gun higher up on the grip, giving the gun a much more balanced feel in my hand. The 80010 has a small palm swell on either side, which will fill out your hand nicely, whether you are left or right-handed. Overall, I am very pleased with this grip, and highly recommend it for anyone who is looking for an alternative to the standard finger groove Hogue grip.

A Big Improvement
My Super Redhawk came with the Hogue grips that have the finger grooves. That is always hit or miss with me due to the very large hands I have. These are perfect for anyone who isn't comfortable with the finger groove grips. The fit and finish is as good as the stock grips and you don't even have to change the mounting system because it is the same as the stock grips had. Now my fingers can hold the grip properly without feeling the finger bumps in the wrong place.

Slimmer and shorter than tamer with finger grooves
Exactly what I was hoping it would be. Shorter and slimmer than the grip with finger grooves.Much better feel and smaller profile.Great level of grippyness

Comfortable, easier to reach trigger, way better than rubber OEM finger groove grips.
Made my 4" GP100 way more comfortable. If you have the rubber finger grooves the swap is 5 minutes. I wear a medium size glove so your monster hands might be better off with the finger grooves. I was thinking of fancy wood but these will handle magnums better.

Most comfortable grips I've tried
Like some other reviewers, I tried several grips on my GP100 before these. The Pachmayr, the Match Champion wood grips, and the Hogue finger grooves. These by far fit my hand the best. The lack of finger grooves is a real benefit, as on both the Pachmayr and the Hogue finger groove grips, the grooves disagree with where my fingers naturally lie, and force my hand into a low and uncomfortable position. These grips, which are a bit thinner, make it much easier to get the right hold on the revolver. They're similar in shape and feel to the Match Champion wood grips, but the rubber is much more comfortable for heavy shooting. My only gripe is that where the grip meets the frame just under the trigger guard, the seal is not bank-vault tight - you can see a small gap. But that seems to be just a minor cosmetic issue so it doesn't bother me much. I recommend these grips to anyone who likes to shoot their revolver a lot and doesn't care that much about fancy aesthetics.
