Finally replaced my filter in my older Hamilton Beach air cleaner

AN ALLERGIC ASTHMATIC’S LIFESAVER! perfect fit for my almost 15 yr old Hamilton Beach 04161, a cardboard rather than plastic frame but almost exact replica and actually a better/softer gasket than now unavailable factory originals. Will post similar review for the replacements in my other larger unit.I don’t understand other review complaining of it being subjectively more restrictive, Most people don’t realize that finer particle filtration means a slightly more restrictive filter, compared to a cheap knockoff, HEPA has finer pores and will be more restrictive, especially as the filter loads up with particles. It’s always good to have the porous foam like charcoal or dust filter ahead of it to extend it’s life, those are cheap and can be easily vacuumed clean of coarser house dust.Having the worst extended allergy season in 15 years in the high desert SE of Tucson AZ, house is not very air tight, misery 24/7, rarely anywhere near as bad. I have two different size Hamilton Beach HEPA machines running in my huge >800sq ft dining/great room w/tall ceilings that needed new filters, this year they are working hard full time, ordinarily don’t need them at all.PROOF: It didn’t take long to notice the difference between this company’s filters and 4x 20x30 US HOME FILTER MERV 13 furnace filters running full time in an air scrubber. If i run my HEPA machines full time I can manage ok, if turn them off, even with the air scrubber running I start to wheeze and my eyes start to burn in less than an hour. (3M Filtrete 1500 and up has proven best for allergy reducing furnace filters, expensive but worth it)

not much to say; i got this because i couldn't even find the hamilton beach brand, probably because the air purifier is 15 years old. but this fits just as well as the name-brand one i replaced and does the job just as well.

Installed and filter won't run well on Med/High, very strained compared to even old OEM used one.

I don't think we have anything negative. Have used this filter for many years. The advice, however, as to how often the HEPA needs replacing is silly.

Works great with my old Hamilton beach air purifier. They are very hard to find and usually very expensive, but this is just what I needed.
