It's A Firth
The Vic Firth brand is top-shelf, and that is what I wanted in a set of brushes. No disappointment at in the quality and price of this product.

VERY old school
I must say that I was initially disappointed with these brushes because they are extra light and have a really wide fan-out. They are very reminiscent of my first set of brushes way back in the early 60's. I found them difficult to get any kind of decent sound with them playing matched grip, so I decided to try them with traditional grip: BIG difference! They are actually perfect for old school brush work! So, it all depends on what you're looking for. By the way, they do have a couple of notches that allow you go with a more narrow fan-out, but I found that such a setting changes the balance too much to be practical. If you want a narrow fan-out with stiffer wires, buy something else. But if you're playing 50's-60's style jazz a la Roach, Philly, or Motian, these may well be as good as you'll find these days.

Just what I was looking for.
Very comfortable and feel balanced. The wires are good thickness and sound great.

Industry standard!
A simple repurchase for me, as enough years had passed for the handles of my previous brushes to turn from purple to black.. Default to this brush!

Vic Firth HB...
I've been drumming for more than 48 years, mostly jazz. In that time I've owned or used no less than 25 - 30 different wire brushes...The Vic Firth Heritage Brush is by far the best brushes I've ever played...Smooth glide, incredible sensitivity, the sharpest accent imaginable and uncomparable bounce...Perfectly balanced and quite handsome. If you're a jazz drummer, these brushes are indispensable in your tool kit...
