Size:1-1/2-Inch 1-1/2 Inch Wet Concrete Diamond Core Drill Bit with 14 Inch Tube Length is used by professionals to do a quick cut into concrete with laser welded segments that contain high concentrations of top quality diamonds. This, combined with a special blend of metal powders, will help to deliver extremely fast cutting and long life in a variety of materials including concrete, cured concrete with heavy reinforcement and hard masonry materials. The newly designed Pro-U segment has double-pointed tips to penetrate quickly and hold a straight drilling path to reduce side drag, and also increases water flow to reduce heat and to remove slurry more efficiently. This concrete core bit is used for general purpose wet drilling on cured concrete with hard aggregate and medium to heavy steel reinforcement, and asphalt overlay on concrete using either a Handheld Core Drill or a Core Drill Rig.

CRITICAL INFO
I ordered this bit plus a 5/8" arbor and found that this bit does not work with standard arbors. There is a full 1/2" recess in the threaded end before you get to the first thread. If you use a standard arbor, you will have only 1 to 1.5 threads engaged in the core drill. You will need a much longer arbor. Technically, you would want to use an actual "Core Drill" that has the built-in arbor with water supply, or buy a wet adapter for the type of drill you will be using. The seller should make a note of this in their ad. Hopefully, they will see this note and add a recommended arbor to their advertising. I am not saying they must supply the arbor...just recommend one that works with this drill. As for how it works? I had to drill through 1" of stucco plus 8" of solid cinder block today. It was in an area where I could not use water to lube the bit, so I ran it on my 300rpm Milwaukee right angle drill with medium pressure. It burned through that job in about 2 minutes and the tip looks exactly the same as it did when I started. For the price and my use, it was a good value.

Cuts Fairly Well and Very Nicely Made
Received this bit 5 days after ordering. I used it to drill a 3 1/2" hole in my 52 year-old driveway, so I could install an anchor pot. It cut well but not super fast. Of course, I did not have a core drilling rig, so I was drilling at a very low RPM. I used my Milwaukee Heavy Duty 1/2" right angle drill with the long side handle so I could handle the kickback. I saw others who also bought the 1 1/4" x 1/2" adapter and it bent on them, so I just made my own by using a 1 1/4" bolt and a hardened 1/2" bolt. I simply tapped 1/2" threads in the top of the big bolt, screwed in the bolt, then chopped off the 1/2" head. It bent a little on me, too (twice) but was easy to straighten out in a vise. (I should have cut the 1/2" bolt down shorter). Since there is no pilot bit with this, I simply made a 3 1/2" template out of some 3/4" plywood to get the hole started. Took me about 30 minutes to actually drill one hole while constantly flushing the cut with a running water hose and removing the bit to flush the hole better. You have to be very careful using a huge bit like this free hand (Has lots of torque and kick when it catches something. Actually, this bit is not made to use freehand). When I was done, the bit still looked new, minus some paint. To get the core out of the bit, I removed the adapter I had made and knocked it out with a long bar and hammer. There were other, cheaper 3 1/2" bits out there, but this one had the best reviews and is rated to go through rebar.

Cuts well
Bought the 12" dia. model. Core drilling in sidewalks 4"-5" thick. It cut well at first but got dull quickly. By the 10th hole it required a significant amount of force to cut. I went through over 10 gallons of water per hole to keep the bit cool, so I don't think lack of water was an issue. I would think the life of the bit should be more than 40" of cutting.UPDATE: I decided to keep using this bit to see when it would actually be so dull it would stop cutting. While it's cutting speed has gone down a lot since it was new, I've cut about 12 more holes with it and it still cuts...so far. So I'm raising my review to 4 stars.

Worked better than the DAMO
I firs bought a hammer drill bit to drill into concrete. This worked very poorly. Then I bought the DAMO bit, which initially cut very fast, but was worn out after ten, 2 inch holes in concrete. I cut ten more with this bit and used up very little of the cutting material. I think this is a better design. The DAMO has the diamond bits stuck to the outside of the bit. This bit has the diamonds impregnated into the cutting edge. I bought the adapter for my 1/2 inch hand drill and made a template out of scrap wood with a 3/4" hole bored into it. I kept a stream of water from my hose squirting into the hole. I also repeatedly pumped the bit (disengaged and reengaged) to allow the water to better get to the cutting area. This worked very well. I wish I had started with this bit first.

quality is actually pretty good
I know these are probably made in a large country about halfway around the world from where I live but the quality actually seems pretty good. I drilled though a 20 inch stone wall in PA with mostly granite and fieldstone with no visible wear of the bit. I had a steel dragon bit that self-destructed in the same material when the teeth debonded form the drill barrel. Do yourself a favor and get the bluerock drill instead of the steel dragon drill. The steel dragon drill is only one speed and doesn't have a safety clutch, when the tooth broke loose from my first diamond core drill the drill body spun around and nearly broke my arm.

Great too For Use in Angle Grinder
Great bit. I used it to cut two holes, one through cement filled cinder block, the other to cut through the foundation of an 80 year old house, in order to run 1 1/4 conduit through it.I used this first in a wet polisher I had, which is really just a light duty angle grinder with a water injection spindle, that worked very well, but be aware that this is very hard on the transmissions of whatever is being used. Eventually, the gears were ground done into nothing. From that point on, I used a heavy duty, 9 AMP angle grinder. Since this is a wet bit, I was only drilling for a few seconds (10 at most) before removing the bit from the hole, putting it in water and flushing out the hole with a hose. This method worked well, though it was a bit slow going.I've completed both holes, and the bit has little wear on it and plenty of life left if I need to use it for anything else. Very pleased with the results, and much cheaper than renting a core drilling rig.

Used on a core drill with mount to drill 2 24" holes today (used extension bar) and wow this baby makes quick work of the job.I bought another brand as well for a similar job and concord is hands down better. the teeth actually have "diamond" pieces and the teeth are grooved to help reduce wear, and improve cut. Held up very well. Will buy more of their products.

Use Wet and Proper Speed
Diamond bit is well made with a generous amount of diamond bort sections. Used to drill through old foundation to replace existing water line. Excellent price. Must be used wet and the other consideration is speed of drilling. From experience with Hilti corebits, the ideal speed for this 1 3/4" bit is around 1800 rpm. Minimum speed around 1200 rpm and maximum speed 2200 rpm. Concord should publish a speed chart on their website or include the recommended speed with the size of bit ordered. Using the correct speed and water will ensure maximum longevity and performance. Remember, the larger the bit, the slower the rpm and conversely, smaller diameter bits, higher rpm. Water must always be used or the bit will burn out.

Best core drill bits found so far
Used this 7" beast with a 4" rated drill through 24" cured concrete with rebar (4 years age). The bit cut really well and was still very sharp. I continue to buy concord blades as they have a really nice cutting edge that is bevelled so starting is easier and cut very smoothly. This drill bit would have worked even better on a properly rated drill but still did an amazing job. Will buy their stuff again.

Works Great
Writing review now that I've used the bit. Works great. I'm running a light water spray against the outside of the bit as my 1/2" drill does not have centre water. I've now drilled three 2" vertical holes 6" deep in my concrete retaining wall, through rebar and all and the bit barely shows any wear. Will definitely last my project which requires 9 more holes. Drilling by hand took about 15-20 minutes per hole. FYI drilling by hand not recommended, when the bit grabs it could cause injury.

Buen producto
Buen producto, dificil encontrar un buen adaptador, pero el producto es muy bueno, se han realizado algunas 10 perforaciones de 30cm y ha funcionado a la perfección. Corta varilla también.
