Awesome!
I mainly bought these because we tend to get hail unexpectedly. Even in May. I made carts for them to be able to move them under my patio in case that happens. I have lost many vegetables and flowers from hail. I like them now that they can be repositioned in different areas. Planting will happen this weekend.

Buy this -- you won't be sorry!
This purchase arrived faster than I expected and in excellent condition. The package included all parts which were wrapped individually, an instruction manual which was very easy to understand and a bag of nuts, bolts and washers. Whoops, the bag was empty and all contents loose inside the box but when I counted, there were exactly as many of each as I needed. The powder coating is beautiful which will weatherize it for years to come. It is very sturdy and the planter boxes appear to be quite substantial. I would give this item 10 stars if I could.

Beautiful plant wall - elegant enough for the porch or living room.
Give yourself plenty of room for assembly. You'll want to spread things out and make sure they are accounted for. Assembly will take approximately 20 - 30 minutes. For those more mechanically inclined I'm sure it will take less. Due to it's awkward size - us shorter ladies would appreciate a helping hand to hold items during assembly.Once assembled - It actually looks like a great piece of furniture and I plan to bring it back in side this winter for plants in my living room.It has been outside all summer is holding up very well. No fading, no scratches - Looks great and have gotten plenty of compliments.

Just not worth the price
After you have it assembled, you think to yourself, there is no way this is worth $160-180. It's worth half that. That wouldn't be true necessarily if the quality of all the parts was very high and the machining was precise. But it isn't. It's cheap Chinese-made junk. The pre-drilled holes don't align, the screws are poor quality, and the plastic containers are not very well made (and hilariously they were so mashed together, I had to use a claw hammer to get them apart).

Stable, attractive, choose drainage locations carefully
Balanced, very stable. But note: you need a drill to add your own drainage holes, which was fine for me, but it offers two suggestef locations for drainage: either in the front, or in the bottom. For the top most planter, if you drill the hole in the bottom, it does not drain into the container below it. Most likely in order to distribute the weight appropriately, the top planter is offset by a lot more than the others, so, for the top most planter, you have to drill in the front and not the bottom of you are to have any hope of it draining into the planter below it.Also because a little soil and dirt colored stains get into the water I would not recommend any white planters unless you're going to fill them with soil all the way to the top - the dirt colored water will stain the planter below it.

Great For Small Patios
I like how sturdy it is and vertical gardening is the way to go if you have a small space. I planted carrots, Swiss chard, broccoli and tomatoes - which all seem to work in this vertical planter. While my vegetables would prefer a deeper container, it is still deep enough to grow more than just basic herbs. Next year I’ll try some different veggies such as spinach or peppers. I would not recommend anything larger such as cucumbers or zucchini. They’ll need more space to grow and the planters just aren’t deep enough for their root systems. Otherwise it’s a solid product and I like that I can easily remove the individual planters. It’s a great product for small spaces (patios, balconies, etc.) and while it’s a little pricey, it’ll last for years.

Purchased as a Christmas present
My story doesn’t start off so great but ends good. Mine arrived with 2 of the planter boxes damaged. I contacted the company and sent some picks of the damaged parts and I have new parts on the way as I write this. The frame is really sturdy and looks great. The design itself is nice. I would make a few changes. One is sturdier planter boxes and the other would be on the design of the folding back leg of the stand. The bracket that folds up doesn’t completely collapse down and is kind of awkward when folding it up. I worried about bending something when I went to deliver this to my mom after putting it together. Not a major issue at all just a bit annoying.Still not enough for me to give it less than 4 Stars. I liked it and my mom absolutely loved it. Customer service was excellent as well. Sent my email in one afternoon and had a response the next morning and parts on the way that afternoon. I would buy from this company again.

Absolutely Brilliant
Let me begin by saying that I gave Outland a bit of grief about my purchase before it even arrived, and in return I received the most prompt, courteous, and considerate customer service I’ve encountered in years. Honestly, I would place an order with this company again just to have an opportunity to deal with their team. The planter itself arrived very promptly, in spite of pandemic shipping. Though I don’t like putting the Amazon or UPS teams in harms way with these quick deliveries, I was really pleased in this instance, because it’s already planting time in my neck of the woods. The parcel is fairly heavy, and the contents are packed exceptionally efficiently. I laughed at the comment from the reviewer who said he took a claw hammer to the planter bins to pry them apart - yes, they were packed together tightly, but I’m a 60 year-old disabled woman, and I managed to get everything out of the box and ready to go with nothing but my fingers and a pocket knife to cut the sealing tape. I hope that other guy is using his kit to grow some spinach!Back to the planter - all of the parts were intact, and the package includes an excellent, very clear & easy to follow, and actually entertaining! instruction/safety manual. The entire thing, including drilling the side drainage holes, took me just over an hour to assemble by myself (please note that I really took my time, and while I’m a handy putterer, I’m no real whiz with a set of tools). “Construction” requires a Philips screwdriver and a wrench - that’s it. All of the pre-drilled holes in the frame aligned perfectly. I did have to wriggle the top of the frame quite a bit to get it down into the bottom section, but I’d rather struggle for 5 minutes over a tight, secure fit, than worry forever about whether or not the thing is safe. Once assembled, the planter is very sturdy and really attractive - even without plants in it. The lip of each planter bin fits neatly over a pivoting/rotating metal bracket on the frame, so they’re very secure, but have a little sway to them for easy access for watering, weeding, and harvesting.I drilled ¼” inch drainage holes in the fronts of the planter bins, as suggested by the instruction manual. Placing the holes in this location allows excess water from one bin to drip/flow directly into the planter box below it, reducing water waste and messes. I love this feature of the system. The suggested ¼” hole is a tad tight for the provided plugs, so I’ll have to drill them out a little more if I want to seal the planter bins up again. The inside measurements of the top of each bin are 24.5” x 7.75”, and they’re 8” deep, with a slight taper to the bottom. That gives a whopping 63 sq ft of growing surface. Each bin holds 28 litres/1 cubic foot of soil, according to the manual, so the 4 bins hold a total of 4 cubic feet/113 litres. The manual states that the weight, fully loaded with soil & plants, averages 60-70 kg / 130-160 lb.The bins in my parcel are an attractive brown - they almost take on a bronze tone in some light - and they’re very sturdy.I’m really happy that I took a chance and made this purchase. This planter is perfect for apartment/condo balconies and patios. If you want to grow your own herbs, greens, & veggies, but you have limited space, definitely consider investing in this portable garden. I’m a very picky shopper and a critical reviewer - I’d give both this product and Outland 10 stars if I could.

Well built!
Great product! It was a pleasure to have (for a change) such a clear and informative owner manual. Assembly was a pleasure and very easy. The component parts are sturdy and the assembled product is solid. The overall design is excellent and maximizes the use of space and sun exposure. The additional information about drain holes, drainage filler, soil volume, maintenance, storage and ideas for what to grow was greatly appreciated. A very classy addition to our back yard!

So far so good... very happy
Product was easy to assemble.. let my 12 year old son put whole thing together while i was having a beer... just helped tighten the screws later... solid and sturdy... been couple of months and all vegetables starting to grow nicely.. only thing, holes are not provided at bottom of baskets.. after a rainy day.. water was sitting so i drilled the holes myself... note they drip over each other as they were suppose to... other than that.. love it.. may get another one

I absolutely love this vertical planter
This vertical planter was purchased to provide never ending lettuce. Throughout the spring and summer I was able to move the planter into areas with the correct sun/shade ratio.I was pleasantly surprised how sturdy this planter was and how well built it was. It was easy to put together. I will be buying another one soon for next year.

Better then expected
Simple to put together. Sturdier than I expected. Containers come with no hole (balcony installation). I drilled x2 holes in the front of each cascading container. Drainage works great!! I decided to build a little dolly ($25) so I can move the planter to optimize sun exposure and move for bad weather. Would buy it again.
