EDMUNDS Frank A. Edmunds 10-inch Border Half-hoop,5910

I bought this 10-inch hoop in Dec 2016 and love it. I have done hand quilting in round lap hoops for years and the borders were always a problem because any quilting along that loose edge was hard to control. Many times I had to pull stitches out and try again. The Border Hoop opens on the back side (where the wingnut is) like a clam shell and is fairly simple to use. You slip the raw edge of the border far enough in until it can be pinned securely to the woven strip on the long straight side, close the "shell", and tighten down the wingnut . The Edmunds hoops are very sturdy because they are thicker and the wingnut attachments are strong. This particular Border Hoop is an awesome invention and makes my job of quilting borders so much easier.

I have been looking for one of these for years! It is ideal for quilting those pesky edges. When I find a larger one, I intend to purchase it, too! I gave it only 4 stars because I will need to add a length of fabric to it to make attaching easier.

Arrived without a wing nut and screw was loose in box. Please check the product before shipping.

I can make this hoop work but it would have been nice it instructions were included. When I contacted the manufacturing they replied with a form letter that did not explain the correct way to use the hoop.

I didn't realize it would be so handy and easy to use. I wish I had purchased one sooner and saved myself the frustation of quilting the edges before. Thank you.
